Yep screamed my lungs out when we equalised, my goal of the season thus far, that was our best game of the season, we dominated them in the first half pretty the same way Dortmund did at the Etihad. Our confidence was sky high and if we had someone else up front instead of Gervinho we would have certainly won that match.

I even remember on MOTD when Kompany was in the studio, they asked him the toughest match they've had this season and he said it was against us Official Arsenal FC Thread - Page 9 914411

The Tyler commentating was great as well.

And yeah I remember that chance near the end for Gervinho. Laughing Koscielny nearly gave City the lead again too.

One of the best things about that goal is Mertesacker's slide. Laughing

Walcott's not injured is he? Well for the Reading game we should be going for this:

    Sz

    Sagna - Koscielny - Vermaelen - Gibbs

    Arteta - Wilshere

    Walcott - Cazorla - Gervinho

    Giroud

As much as Gervinho has been poor, he needs to be played on the wing with that being his last chance in the starting 11. I for one who defends Vermaelen a lot admits he's been poor, but he's a captain and his partnership with Koscielny last season was one of the reasons why we came 4th. Him and Koscielny hasn't really had enough games to strike a partnership again, but Koscielny does bring the best out of him likewise does Vermaelen.

I wanted to slot Rosicky in there, but that would mean dropping Arteta and leaving us light defensive wise from midfield. I'm starting to hate Podolski on the wing, he's being wasted there.

Or just play Rosicky who will improve the flow of our game a lot Razz And if based off last year will actually get stuck into tackles.

    Wilshere Arteta Rosicky
    Cazorla
    Giroud Podolski
Our full backs give us enough width for us to play that.

They'd give us enough attack wise but we'd get torn apart by a quick counter attack with a team with good wingers..

If we were going to play that, i'd do it like:

    Szczesny
    Sagna - Mertesacker - Vermaelen - Gibbs
    Arteta
    Rosicky - Wilshere
    Cazorla
    Giroud - Podolski

And i'd just have Arteta sit and have Rosicky and Wilshere play a bit wider then they normally do, both are mobile enough to do it.

Gervinho's the only natural winger we have in ou squad right now, when he's played on the wing he does give the full back problems, he does his infamous dribble to the edge of the pitch and puts in a decent/shit low cross nearly all the time and that's him still creating chances. I love Arshavin, but putting him on the wing again is as much as a waste if not worse. Gervinho's worse performances have been up front, he's got shit movement, poor control up there, poor finishing (apart from vs Chelsea & Olympiakos) and poor link up play. I know I'll get slated, but on the wings he still causes problems to the fullbacks and create half chances.

I'm glad Rosicky's back and actually won't mind him on the wing as he does drift inside and track back whereas Arshavin won't. Rosicky has always been our best slide tackling midfielder Official Arsenal FC Thread - Page 9 601554

Na I agree to an extent but i'd only play him on the wing when we have Giroud playing, nobody else will take advantage of the cut backs. To be fair, Gervinho has played on the wing quite a bit of late, he drifts over there but still can't deliver properly most the time. Maybe:

    Arteta - Wilshere
    Rosicky - Cazorla - Gervinho
    Giroud
For the next game or something. I'd rather swap Rosicky and Cazorla, think the passing between those 4 would be sexy and Gervinho and Giroud will give something different. Podolski needs to be benched for a bit though, looks sluggish and shit atm.

I'm sure in that formation he put up Arteta would be the one sitting deep. I do like that formation, it will also give us more pace and attacking players on the bench if things aren't going our way (Walcott, Chamberlain, Gervinho).

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, if Giroud isn't in the box then no1's really gonna be pushing on as Cazorla and Wilshere dwell around the edge of the box. Yeah it seems like Rosicky's the only playing along with Wilshere to be on the same passing ability level as Cazorla, Arteta's got a good relationship with Santi, but not in and around the box. Santi needs that quick decisive pass which Rosicky has in his locker and proved that in the Bradford game. I'd go along with the personel in that formation.

I just think he's worn out tracking back nearly all the time. Probably just needs rest. Rosicky deserves a start definitely ahead of Ramsey, Chamberlain on the right.

Oh thought you was trying to have a dig. I don't see the problem with it, he's playing for Manchester United and as you said they're paying his wages, is he meant to say "No I can't sing it because it will go on the internet and Arsenal fans would see it"? Nope those fans are just bitter tbh, I'm happy for him that he's doing very well there and picked off where he left off last season with us.

You guys need to move on and get the bitternes out your system, he moved on as soon as he was fully fit and at his peak. Yes we all hated him at the start, but it's what almost 4-5 months now, let it go, shit happens and money talks.

Vermalen and Koscielny are our best partnership and it was proven last season.
