US national team has been officially disbanded after conceding a hat trick to the one and only Nicklas Bendtner.

It was nice, for sure. But I have no idea what Burki was doing in goal. Shea's free kick was within range for him to make the save. And then he missed horribly on that 50/50 ball early in the second half that Zardes somehow managed to head wide.

You should be at the stadium now, Steve. Orlando is crap at finishing though.

I was hoping to make it down for that game, but United are back there in June, I'll try to go then. What a finish though from Silva to win the game.

Hard to imagine, but the worst team in MLS in 2014 will be playing for a spot in the Club World Cup.

América wrecking Herediano 5-0 right now. Looks like another MLS vs Liga MX final for the Concachafa.

Herediano dropped the ball big time. Smashed 6-0 after winning the first leg 3-0. So Club America v Montreal. So America will be the 2015 CCL Champions.

Also, Philly basically sent M'bholi home today. And by home, I mean Europe. Because after he fuxed up against Sporting, Philly have decided to play a former USL keeper over him until Blake gets healthy. Way to go, Philly.

Tijuana and Atletico Bilbao are set to play a friendly this summer in Boise, Idaho. Sounds strange, but there's a huge Basque diaspora in Boise (well, relative, but still like 20,000), which is why they'll play there when Boise will never sniff a MLS or US game.

Also, the game will be played on the Boise State blue turf football field, so that'll be interesting.

*Athletic Bilbao. For shame, Steve.  Snooty

20,000 is pretty sizable. I wonder how many of them still speak Euskara.

Damnit. Got them and Atletico mixed up. You're right. For shame.

But the game is during their Jaialdi celebration, which occurs every five years in Boise celebrating their heritage. And it sounds like a lot of the other pockets of Basque diaspora are out on the west coast, so I think this game will be well attended.

And luckily it won't be played on the blue turf.

Sunderland and D.C. United switched food items for the games today. Not sure exactly what we are getting here, but the main thing they were getting there was something that wasn't called a cheese steak, but was described as such. Which isn't a DC thing. Philly thing. But, for some reason, Sunderland decided to ruin chips with Old Bay by smothering them with cheese. Doesn't make any sense at all.

Steak and ale pie was our option apparently. Although I would have gone in on some chips and cheese -- which apparently Sunderland opted for anyway.

Cubo for a hat trick. Alvardo in defense has been a disaster so far in his two previous caps, and now he starts against Mexico. Bradley at the #10 won't work as usual, and Morris starting even though he plays in college. Way to go, Klinsmann.

Sounds like everything is coming together to be a truly ugly affair.

I'm still holding on to the hope that Chapo Montes has a really good game on his return to the national team and can make this game not suck though. It's weird how dependent on the Europe based players Mexico has become these last few years. Seems like this is the first time that this is the case.

We basically flip flopped in that regard. 2000s we were dependent on European players, with a small sprinkling of MLS guys, and you all were mostly Mexican based with a couple Europeans. Completely opposite now. Wonder how that'll affect things going forward.

I just saw Zardes and was reminded of the article I read on ESPN fc the other day that made the kinda odd comparison between Zardes and Lukaku.

Same article made comparisons between Ventura and Vermalen(sp?) and also Garza with Leighton Baines.

Yeah, Alex Labidou or whatever. They were absolutely ridiculous evaluations.

This game is going to be ridiculous on the basis that this field was just laid on top of the concrete within the past couple of days. Its a victory for everyone if no one suffers an ACL injury like Conor Casey did a couple of years ago in Seattle when grass was put on top of the turf in anticipation of a friendly.

I critized Marco Bueno's inclusion in this squad but I would of preferred seeing him starting with either Herrera or Cubo. At least Bueno has a bit of pace and can create space, a pairing of Lalo and Cubo is just too static. I don't know maybe it wouldn't have made a difference, this is just a bad squad all around. Besides maybe 4 or 5 guys, I dont think any of these guys are international level footballers. Piojo should of just called up everyone from Chivas, they probably could of done a better job today.

I feel like clawing my eyes out.

That move that Cubo had on Omar at the end of the first half was pretty though.
