Joe Cole is completely and utterly useless, so unfit as well.

You know your squad is paper thin when youre starting like three teenagers every game.

That was a great goal. What the fuck was Jones doing there? Came out way too far way too early.

What a goal, and I think any keeper would've probably came out for that. Jones has been great again although maybe he could've done a bit better for the goal.

Damn it. We've got no cutting edge, if we actually put pressure on them, we probably would have made loads more chances.

Also Shelvey's end product is shit and what the fuck was Henderson doing when he was one on one trying to pass it back

Noticed that as well. I think it was Morgan who was yelling at them to push up and pressure but no one listened.Cam wrote:Damn it. We've got no cutting edge, if we actually put pressure on them, we probably would have made loads more chances.
Also Coady looks awesome.

Brad Jones deserves to be number 1 at the moment.
He waited for his chance and has taken it, it's now Pepe's chance to take a seat on the sidelines and not just take the position for granted.
Until Jones makes a mistake, he deserves to continue.

When Pepe is healthy he should and will start.
Yeah our squad is just paper thin.
Certainly our managers realize that if we lose today they take top of the group right?

Henderson's movement and range of passing is great, just takes it all in his stride.
Been for more effective than Shelvey has, deserves a chance.

He probably will start, but why should he start? Jones has been better this seasonMustangt125 wrote:When Pepe is healthy he should and will start.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Missed the first 30 minutes of the game. Here's what I came away with:
We went there set up to lose, and that's what happened.
Only good teams can play and succeed with the false number 9. We cannot.
Coates had an absolute nightmare. Is this perhaps the slowest back line ever?
Shows had terribly the manager and owners screwed up by not getting a striker: We had Joe Cole as our false #9 in the second half. That's truly pathetic.
Shelvey didn't play well, poor in possession and needed more urgency.
Henderson offers next to nothing to the squad. Has he had a shot on target for Liverpool yet?
Suso looked good, but sometimes he needs to get rid of it rather than trying that one last move.
I thought Jones was way out of position on their goal. Came way too far out, way too early.
This team has a serious lack of talent and balls.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
It was a young side, can't be too harsh. I'd rather we take a younger team to Russia than take our first team who'll be fucked on Sunday against Chelsea. (We'll probably still lose).
We lack a attacking point without Suarez, hopefully we'll buy some attackers in January.
Suso was quite good, although you were right about the fact that he doesn't really pass quick enough, he tends to take one touch too many. He's promising.
Shelvey was pretty crap imo, that freekick just sums him up how he is sometimes.
Henderson can get fucked as far as i'm concerned, unless he bucks his ideas up.

I think this game was a prime example of why we badly need another striker.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Sort of agree that they set up to lose, there was barely any pressing from the players they just got almost every back and sat deep.
Think you're being very harsh with everything else though.

We need a win at Anfield against Young Boys, and hope Udinese dont win against Anzi and we will go through.

Glen is fit for the Chelsea game, Pepe could be fit, but he might not be ready in time.

Irrelevant, he is not currently No.1.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Rodgers added: "We'll assess Pepe over the next 24 hours, but he's making progress. If he doesn't make the weekend then certainly I'd anticipate him to be available the following week. He's working very hard and working very well.
"He's our No.1 'keeper. Brad [Jones] has come in and done a fantastic job for us in this period. Every time he has been asked upon this year, he has done great.
"But Pepe is recuperating very well, he's working very hard. We'll see how he goes for the weekend. If not, then certainly by next week he will be available."
---
It's not fucking irrelevant, I was basically just giving an update on the two main injuries of the squad
