That was my first thought too.

Plus South Park isn't very funny anymore.

It is dying. They do that now and again though. I bet next season will be good.

Besides tax purposes, don't really understand the benefits of this.

Maybe it's a trap, and they want more people to move/visit the great plains of America.
The middle of America is just a giant shit hole really I've heard.

I don't support the legalization of weed, but you can make a case for the decriminalization of it or reform the punishment.

It's a lot nicer than the middle of England.

Weed is like any other drug that has bad effects of the body. If you want to use it for medical purposes, then just make it acceptable under certain controlled situations (which is already what happens in several states).
There is absolutely nothing to gain by making the recreational use of pot legal. I just find it silly when people cite scientific/medical uses for a drug even though they never think or intend to use that drug for those reasons. It's like when people argue that a glass of wine is good for your heart. Do you honestly drink alcohol for the health benefits or smoke pot because you are suffering from sever chronic pain?

On the other hand, if humans ceased to exist this very second, no other drugs would exist on the world and neither would alcohol.
Marijuana would.
And they can tax it to high hell, they'll make billions off it.

Opium? Mushrooms? Salvia?
I totally agree with ahly here, medicinal use is fine, don't understand recreational, the only benefit I can see so far is a lessening on the 'war on drugs' now that a major part of it is legal (in one state),

Mariguana is just like prohibition of alcohol. Learn from history. I think at some point it will be socially acceptable. I don't drink, smoke or use mariguana but we have to get with the times.

Could be, but it might be too juicy that it happened in Colorado. Maybe not a full episode but perhaps a mention somewhere.

Salvia.
As far as recreational use is concerned, the people want it and voted for it. Regardless of whether it has benefits or not, it's what the people want.

I guess I forgot about shrooms. I don't think Salvia is a natural plant and opium needs treatment from the poppy plant. You can't just pop it off the stem.
And drugs like opium ruin lives. Pot just enhances gamer scores.

Hope Switzerland will do this too one day, it got rejected some time ago though. At least for over 18-year-olds you only get a fine, nothing else. Way to go, even though I don't smoke it.

Opium can be smoked (would go through the same treatment that weed goes through, if weed was straight from the plant you'd have to remove the seeds yourself) and it can be brewed like a tea, among other things. Pretty sure Salvia is natural too but I don't know much about that shit.

I disagree, and so do psychologists... and a shitload of artists. A host of varying beneficial psychological experiences can result from the stimulus of drugs, and alcohol for that matter.
