Don't think he found it funny, just didn't have the personality to red card him. It was his first season as a professional referee in the second division, and Blanco is the biggest name in Mexican football in the last 20 years.

If he had done it to Chiqui Dracula or el Pelon Morales, he'd be sent off.

Blanco in Chicago was fun to watch though. I guess a lot of the MLS defenders didn't know much about him at the time so he started doing all the tricks and feints he stopped doing in Mexico years ago. It was fun watching him make back heel passes and dance around MLS defenders. Of course it was also incredibly satisfying seeing bums like Christ Albright hack him down when they couldn't deal with him.

It was a win win situation for me. Wish he had stayed a bit longer instead of taking a pay raise and moving back South to play in the second division. Probably couldn't keep up much longer in the MLS though.
