Agger will be here for the entire of next season I guarantee that. His family are happy here, my crystal ball doesn't lie.

That's my point. Jela is acting like he needs a huge pay-day to help pay bills.

I'd say 32 was sort of the end of your time in England as a CB, yeah you might go and play abroad to earn big money. But those sort of leagues I'm referencing aren't as demanding. Players like Rio Ferdinand, who is 33 ... I mean it's pretty evident that he isn't what he used to be. Lost the pace etc. Agger might get a 5 year deal at City, which he could more than retire on.
    Rio is still fantastic.

He isn't in the England squad any more because he's not good enough, he has declined a lot recently.

Yeah I hate when people say shit like 'he has one big contract left in him to set him up for life'.

At 28, he's already made a shit load more than what most of us will earn in a lifetime.

Also the family thing can work the other way - his family may already be settled.

    Agger will stay.

Just because you have a lot of money doesn't mean he can't struggle. Lots of players live the high life, they will want to live a very comfortable life style. One last big contract means one contract to make sure they can live that high life for the rest of their lives.

Don't they already have enough money to 'live the high life' for the rest of their lives?

Also Agger doesn't seem like a flashy player.

You don't really need to be a 'flashy' player to enjoy money and what comes with it.

Footballers earn a LOT of a money. Even Championship players are on wages that any of us here would dream to have in the future. They're on ridiculous amounts and that money piles up from their teenage years into their mid/late 30's. You would have to live life like a sugar daddy, owning 10-15 cars and a huge mansion to 'struggle after their career is over'.

You think footballers don't have brains? Every single one of them will be putting at least half of their earning into a savings account for when they retire and that will be more than enough for Agger. Players like Nasri/Toure/Tevez play for Man City so they can live the best of lives possible and if they want to do that then fine but Agger is not and never will struggle for money while at Liverpool FC.

most footballers seem like teenagers who never grew up. I can easily see them wasting a lot of it.

Well think about it, when Adam finishes playing football his wife will leave him and get half of everything. Then he will get a new wife who will leave him for his money and the cycle will continue until he is is left with no money

Have you ever seen Aggers interviews? He's one of the most laid back players I've ever seen, he hates interviews and the press and just wants to play football. Those are his words exactly so I honestly doubt with a family and kids and living at Liverpool for over 5 years that he'll suddenly starting waving his cash around and attempt to fuck up his families future.

Tons of athletes blow all their money. Many of them are pretty stupid. The "last big contract" theory makes perfect sense. He would probably double his wages.

I wouldn't blame Agger for leaving, but the fee would have to be hefty and hopefully he would leave England.

Okay well here's something you may enjoy, I was going through the team with my girlfriend (yes I have a girlfriend) and asking here which ones were good looking, just to get an unbiased, female view and this is the consensus.

    Good looking - Gerrard, Henderson.
Okay - Reina, Agger, Enrique, Jones.
Bad - Pretty much everyone else.
Awful - Suarez, Carroll, Spearing, Skrtel, Maxi, Adam.

Make of that what you will.
