Fair play. Loved watching him play for Northern Ireland back when they were good.

I remember that match, absolutely buzzing for Coventry away now with the Byrne signing as well yesterday. It looks like the board are backing Shirtliff for the job and we are saving money to get some players in.

Re: npower Football League Thread
People are mentioning his previous goalscoring records at other clubs but you have to remember when we signed Grella he didn't exactly score many at other clubs and we made him in to a decent player as he had players round him who could create the passes for him to score.

Grella's a top quality link up man, he makes quick passes and good runs. Was he good at that at Bury?ShakerMatty wrote:People are mentioning his previous goalscoring records at other clubs but you have to remember when we signed Grella he didn't exactly score many at other clubs and we made him in to a decent player as he had players round him who could create the passes for him to score.

Yes, I'd give an example if the highlights for Notts County V Bury were somewhere.

"Bury sign David "Wednesday 14th September 2005, Northern Ireland 1, England 0" Healy on a one year contract."
Saw that on Facebook, I actually laughed lol.

David Healy is horrible now.
I'd be very surprised if he scored a single goal, no pace or nothing.
PS. If you think I'm bitter, we didn't offer him a new deal and he was one of the lowest earners. He's terrible.

Re: npower Football League Thread
Giving Aldershot away on saturday a miss to save some money. Will instead be going to Bishops Cleeve v Ascot United in the FA Cup prelimary round for £7, and may also have a few pints in town afterwards to celebrate Bishops Cleeves win .
Also to put in perspective the nature of our signings, it was only a few years back when players were turning us down when we were in league one to join conference clubs. Credit must to go to Yates and his staff for rebuilding the club, and making it a club players want to play for.

Let's face it, SPL is about League 1 level, Healy might find it tough.

Oh no, I didn't mean it like that. I was just asking.
I couldn't give a fuck about the SPL. It will be the same level as the English sunday leagues by the time we're back.

We've signed Sam Deering, Shaun Harrad, Zebroski, Connor Roberts, Billy Jones and Darren Carter this summer. From what I've seen so far, Deering looks like a very tricky little player. Only 21 as well but has shown a lot about himself so far. Harrad is a hard working goal scorer and has got 2/2 games so far. Something we've lacked since we had Gillespie back in 2007. And i'd also say centre mid Darren Carter is worth looking out for as the lad has spent his career in the premiership and championship and is still only 28.
The rest of them, they haven't really stood out or dissapointed so far.
The other stand out players for us are Super Sido , McGlashan, Mohamed on his day and Marlon Pack.

The SPL just signed a new 5 year deal, worth around £10million each season. But that includes the Rangers games, so we get around £1million and the rest of the division get around £500,000. If it was shared equally, every SPL club would get around £600,000. But Celtic are getting a slightly larger chunk of the overall sum.

From what I remember of him last season Sam Deering played very well against us. One of the players a group of fans wanted to replace Carayol.RubyArmyCTFC wrote:Harrold wrote:Which players have you signed this window who we should be looking out for?

Zebroski won't be a stand out player if his time here is anything to go by. He can turn the pace on but a lot of the time he runs into a dead end and can't do anything with the ball. On a few occasions he'll do something well, for example his goal against you, but he won't be able to replicate it again.
I liked Zebroski, he had a great passion for the game but his early form and the way Buckle and a large portion of the fans treated him knocked the confidence right out of him and it never came back.
I hope he remains a broken man while playing for you, though.
