We've apparently had an approach for Lee Hughes rejected according to; http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/story-16603907-detail/story.html.

Getting a bit concerned over the players we have been trying to sign lately, after we apparently had a bid for Leon Clarke turned down as well. Wouldn't want either of them in a Cheltenham shirt, especially Hughes.

Bristol Rovers have agreed terms with Ålgård FK to bring Rogvi Baldvinsson to the club for an undisclosed fee.

The central defender will link up with the team on Monday to undertake a medical, and following international clearance the deal should be completed next week.

The 22-year-old is a Faroese international footballer, who made his international debut in 2011.

He has made 120 appearances for Norwegian side Ålgård FK, scoring 16 goals.

Chairman Nick Higgs said: "We continue to cast our net further with Mark's extensive contacts.

"We look forward to this exciting young player joining the club."
    McGhee and his contacts. clap

Bristol Rovers are set to sign David Clarkson on a two year deal subject to medical.

The striker has already spent most of pre season training with Rovers, and has now agreed terms with the club.

David has previous experience of working with manager Mark McGhee after having a spell under him at Motherwell.

Mark McGhee said: "I think he is a better player than he has shown, he is certainly a player with more than enough ability to cope with this level.

"I am expecting him to be a stand out at this division because of where he has come from.

"I have got the best out of him before, and I understand him. We are both strikers, and I know what he needs.

"He showed bits of his best the other night, Dave Clarkson is at his best when he is hunting, and that is what I intend to get out of him."

David began his career at Motherwell, scoring his first goal nine minutes into his first starting appearance for the club, at home in an SPL match against Partick Thistle in January 2003.

Clarkson was a regular from the following season, playing in the majority of matches.

During his time at Motherwell he made 219 appearances, scoring 49 goals.

In June 2009 he moved south of the border to join our local rival Bristol City on a three year contract for an undisclosed fee.

In September 2011, he spent a month on loan at Brentford.

Chairman Nick Higgs said: "This is a massive coo for the club, David has Championship experience and should be able to great things for us.

"We have spent a long time negotiating with his agent, and we are delighted that he has decided to join us.

"Hopefully he will score a lot of goals for us, and his experience at a higher level should also benefit the young strikers at the club."

Clarkson has played twice for Scotland, scoring in a friendly against the Czech Republic in May 2008.

Lee Hughes is a massive bellend. He tried to headbutt one of our players when we played them. He must get abuse from every team's fans he plays against.

We're signing a striker on loan tomorrow. It is suspected to be Chris O'Grady or Ryan Lowe from Sheff Wednesday. They both played for Bury Laughing

For some reason, I don't think it will be either of them.

Our team possibly for next season

npower Football League Thread - Page 13 Attachment

Looks strong and we have Hughes who can interchange with Lockwood/Sodje and Harrad and the shop who can both go on for Bish and Lateef.

Actually quite excited for next season and I feel we can surprise a few.
