No, not getting in a pure midfielder would not be awesome, it would be the opposite of awesome.

It will be reality. We're not going to go into the new season with 7 or more central midfielders.

31/05/2012 13:30, Report by Press Department
United returning to China
Manchester United will return to China for the first time in three years to play Shanghai Shenhua as part of Tour 2012, delivered to the world by DHL.
The Chevrolet China Cup will be contested in the match at the Shanghai Stadium on 25 July.
United chief executive David Gill said: "Our pre-season tour is an important process for the club as it allows us to prepare for the season ahead, as well as engage with our fans and partners in different markets. We had a fantastic amount support from our fans last time we played a pre-season game in China. We were overwhelmed by the passion and excitement generated by the fans who came out to support us and we hope many more join us again this year. This is the first time we will play for the Chevrolet China Cup and I think it marks a fantastic start to what we hope to be a long relationship with Chevrolet."
Wu Dongming, managing director of DHL-Sinotrans, said: "We are delighted to be involved with delivering Manchester United's pre-season tour to China. Using our global network we’ll be supporting the back room team to prepare for the China leg of the tour and ensure that the team are ready to deliver success on the pitch ahead of the 2012/13 season."
Thomas Cook is pleased to offer United fans in the UK the chance to follow the team as they embark on their biggest ever tour. For information on travel options to China and Norway, visit ThomasCooksport.com or call 0844 335 7765.

And while we're talking about Chicharito, it's his birthday today! 24 years old now.

Apparently Will Keane has the same injury as Vidic and will be out for 6-9 months.
Also it's being said Carrick's been carrying an achilles injury all season.

I can't remember a time when we've been so dependent on one player as we are on Michael Carrick.
Does anyone here think we'd still have lost the League if we had kept O'Shea? I predicted that we would lose it if we sold him last summer, and I stand by that being a big factor in it.

Really impossible to say, things can change on minor moments, considering we lost it on goal difference there is every chance O'Shea could have helped us win the league, at the same time it could have gone the other way.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Does anyone here think we'd still have lost the League if we had kept O'Shea?
I don't think he was enough of a significant loss to use as a reason we lost the league though, maybe v Everton or something he'd have been there to see it out, because he has done that in the past and it's been underrated, at the same time he could be a clown.

You're skirting round the issue which is this - I was right, Ferguson was wrong.

Kyro's right though. At times O'Shea looked like the worst footballer on the planet, ala Stoke away last season. I don't think he knew where he was.

he would have cost more points then gained thats for sure
at the end of the day we scored more goals and got more points then we did in the last 2 years and in 4 of the last 5 years..

You can not prove we would have won the league with O'Shea therefore no one cares.ResurrectionRooney wrote:You're skirting round the issue which is this - I was right, Ferguson was wrong.

May I direct you to the Liverpool thread, where I've proved that I was right and you were wrong? Thanks.

Sorry but this made me burst out laughing Why were you all fussed about him? We are never going to compete with the wage money Man City and Chelsea will offer. And from what I can tell, money is his top priority.

at the end of the day we scored more goals and got more points then we did in the last 2 years and in 4 of the last 5 years..
A much more relevant statistic for a defensive player is the fact that we conceded more than we did in 4 of O'Shea last 5 seasons, and went out of the Champions League due to completely ridiculous defending and a lack of defensive midfielders to close out a game. We lost the title because of ridiculous defensive displays and a piss-poor midfield as well. We seldom conceded 4 goals at Old Trafford when we had O'Shea, and we never conceded 6.
And if he would cost more than he gained, why did Ferguson keep him around for so long?
