Be fair. If he maintains a good form, and can perform like he does in big matches on a more consistent basis for the next 10 years for Liverpool then he's easily worth the £35M they paid for him.
What I expect from €40 million is world class performances.
Like Falcao last night.
Falcao and Andy Carroll are two completely different type of players, it would be unrealistic to expect him to have the similar level of technical ability, agility and finishing prowess. In addition Falcao is 26 years old, in his prime. Andy Carrol is 23 and still some way off his prime, not saying he will be as good as Falcao, but they are two different type of players.
In addition it's a little unfair to compare Andy Carroll to one of the, at the moment, best strikers in the world. No one denies he's not good enough for his price tag yet, but if he can help win Liverpool matches, help climb up the table and win trophies by showing up in big games (which he seems to be good at from recent evidence), then he is quite easily worth £35M for them.
If he fails to deliver then that's another story.
