I wonder if we get crushed at the Euros, will he get sacked?

Re: HODGSON FOR ENGLAND
Hodgson dealt with those questions professionally and with class. Roy Hodgson is the right choice.
A proper manager with real class. 'Arry is about as classy as a damp shit.

or maybe because the english liverpool players are largely overrated.ScottyBoy_1989 wrote:Gerrard and Johnson reunited with Roy.
Watch him leave out every Liverpool player, out of bitterness.

Everyone who is supporting hodgson seems to be doing so in a very sarcastic and jokey manner. Whereas I fully support him as a great manager, the only reason he will fail is because fans will criticize every step he makes and drive him to failure out of butthurtness from previous experiences with him.

@ Ed
I will support him/England at the Euros, but it doesn't stop me from believing that he'll do badly.

I fully support him. Also, I'm a Liverpool fan.
He will make the England team organised and consistent.

Re: HODGSON FOR ENGLAND
I remember when people thought Roy would 'steady the ship' at Liverpool, turning us into a consistent side which would grind out wins. What happened?
Oh yeah ..
He bought Konchesky and Poulsen, he had us teetering above the the relegation zone and he got us knocked out of the Carling Cup vs Northampton at home.

I'm not saying the transfers were good but he had no financial backing from the board and then none from the fans.

He signed a 4 year contract, so he probably will be for the World Cup and the euros

The moronic people will have their moronic views.
He at least deserves the fans support and respect. I am fully behind him.

He had our backing to begin with, then lost it after a string of terrible performances and results.

Huh what? you're upset over sceptical fans because the FA sacked a man who had won 9 titles + a champions league and then replaced him with a midtable man?
Really?

When did I ever mention Capello?
I'm not talking about people being sceptical. I am just wondering what some people achieve from slating him.
The media are the same. They keep bringing up his time at Liverpool. Stop focussing on the negatives!

Re: HODGSON FOR ENGLAND
All these people are going in on Roy but I doubt that Harry would've raised expectations or the capability of this generation of English players. The English getting Ko'd at the QFs is starting to become cliche but when you think about it unless the draw goes array (and even then) they really aren't a Semi final caliber team.. this generation isn't, and I'd bet the next one (Wilshere, Jones, etc.) isn't either (hard to tell now) the main focus should be youth development.
I don't know what would be expected out of Harry if he got the job, good football? Is that it?

Re: HODGSON FOR ENGLAND
4 year deal is interesting, and fucking stupid.
Why do the FA do this? Fair enough, if we have a shit Euros he still had the job, but what if we don't qualify for the WC/have a shit tournament? He'd probably still keep his job.
Should give him a 2 year contract.
Edit: or maybe that just happened with Capello and his stupid wages.

its abit disastrous considering he is the reason we seemed to have stopped yo-yoing. And no clue who will manage or who is available.Splashy wrote:Slightly OT: How do you feel about losing your manager and who do you want to replace him?Ed wrote:Everyone who is supporting hodgson seems to be doing so in a very sarcastic and jokey manner. "Of course, my track record, if people bothered to study it, would put me in the same category as [Sir Alex] Ferguson enjoys today" - Roy Hodgson 2002.
He is a gobshite. I don't like him. I don't care if that makes me "bitter" in your eyes. His behavior as Liverpool manager was appalling, and I am not talking about tactics or results.

But, I still wish him all the best. Won't be long till his pals in the media turn on him.
