The purple one is alright, I can't see myself wearing it, but yeah.

The red is like a darker red to what we normally have, we normally have like a bright red, that's darker shifty

It's still only a mock up, I think.

Yeah, the badge has gone back to our old one. Don't know why.

Not one of our players left to win the Carling cup.

Hindsight? How did he know that Carroll wouldn't 'contribute anything', we were still pushing for europe at that point anyway
You didn't need him, he was injured until March and there was nothing to play for by then.

Yes it does actually. Rich clubs have a tendency to win trophies as a result of having money to pay for and buy exceptional players. The less money you make a year, the lesser quality players you can afford. Finishing 8th 3 years in a row, while winning the FA Cup and Carling cup every year results in a "loss" of £70-80M, if you do poorly in Europe, in excess of £100M+ if you do well, and that's just for finishing fourth.

So that's 3 Luis Suarez quality players, including "competetive" wages that you could have bought and paid for, to enable you to compete on a higher level, which would in turn enable you to earn more money and sign better players, which would in turn result in better football and better chances at winning trophies.

And that is not taking into account revenue from fan markets which has a tendency to increase sharply for CL participation.

Then why do Arsenal never win any trophies? They consistently finish in the top 4.

Because they do not spend their money? They spend less on players than the majority of clubs in the league, considering their position they severely under-spend on player acquisitions. Having the money, but not spending it, doesn't translate into trophies. Having the money and spending it however does enable clubs to compete on a much higher level than if they didn't have that money for obvious reasons that I would feel to be redundant to point out.

It's fairly basic really. Your chances of winning trophies and maintaining a good reputation in the league hinge on league position, not cup wins.

So if Chelsea win the Champion's League and Newcastle finish above Arsenal, then Arsenal would be in the thursday cup, probably wont happen but its just a thought.
