So Easley, are you a Spurs fan and a Crawley fan? If so who are your first team?

Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
I am a fan of both yes. Tottenham were always my first team, until this season. I spent every other week at Crawley, wrote for the programme, sold the programme, met the players, Alan Williams knows me and only missed one home game and went to every FA Cup game, including Hull away. So now Crawley are my first team.Trent wrote:So Easley, are you a Spurs fan and a Crawley fan? If so who are your first team?
Thing is, I only found out in the last year that my dad's family lived and grew up in Tottenham but he chose to be a Chelsea fan to go against his family! Later on in life him, my nan and grandad moved to Crawley and so I have family roots in Tottenham and my hometown club is Crawley. So, I have emotional ties to both which is quite funny and I love it. I've been a season ticket holder at both clubs as well as a club member. So it's not like I've never seen a match for one of them. And I can say I've seen them both at Old Trafford! Both lost and never scored though.

Ah, thanks for beating Hull. Loved making fun of them after they got knocked out of both cups to League 2 sides.easley91 wrote:I am a fan of both yes. Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
No worrys! That was such a great day out. Went with two mates, long ass coach ride but the ride back was just brilliant because we were all so happy. The atmosphere was immense in the away end, plus had an excellent view of Tubbs' last goal and Shearer's save that won of us the game.Trent wrote:Ah, thanks for beating Hull. Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
Just signed up to our fans forum. My first post:
Any suggestions?
We need to address our GK situation, I haven't seen much of Cronin but he can't be that good. I didn't go to the game on Sautrday but Gough conceded four times, someone who was actually there might be able to give a more informed opinion of him. Bevan isn't a good keeper, he's awful. We certainly need to strengthen here. Poke was good while he was here, I'd like to give him ago properly. As long as we strengthen here I'm not fussed who it is.
The defence is pretty good at the moment. Maybe another RB so Smith can play on the right of the midfield more often, he certainly looks a lot better there than at RB. We'd need to add at least two CBs with Bolger and Parkes returning to Leicester and having signed new deals it would be pretty pointless signing them on loan.
We don't need a quick fix! I'd release Byron, as much as I like him he's not good enough for our promotion push. Virgo hopefully can back in and do his job well.
I'd like to add to our midfield someone in the centre. Gill hasn't cut it, I think he's a good player but not a starter for us. Dorman and Lund will return to Crystal Palace and Stoke respectively and the latter has signed a new deal. I don't think Dorman would settle for us. He said himself he thought we were in league one. Wayne Brown hasn't looked the same for a while now. I'd still like to see him given at least another 6 months to prove himself, again. Stanley to stay on as cover. On the left we'd need to have a decent back-up for Muzzy, or a replacement It's no good playing L.Brown out of position when he's a strong full back. We certainly need to strengthen the right, maybe pushing Smith onto the right and signing someone like Ainsworth. Smith could be cover for both RB and RM (if we sign another defender).
Upfront we need someone to partner Harrold, he's a good striker. I've seen and heard from a few fans about how he encourages route one football. I disagree with that, he's more intelligent than that. He's not just the big forward. We need to get rid of Anyisah. I'm mixed on Zeb, he's shown flashes of brilliance and then he's shown flashes of how dog shite he is. McGleish just doesn't have the pace to play as the little man in the partnership with Harrold. I'd like to see Cureton brought back in, I'm certain he could be the artner Harrold needs. Richards to stay on he's been brilliant this season and adds something different to us.
Any suggestions?

Rumours going around that Cardiff City will be re-branded as a club. As a result they will change their club colours from blue to red .

I saw that mentioned in a thread about Bristol City thinking they'd be big in China purely because they wear red.

That celebration from McGleish. 37 yeards old.
Watching that I didn't realise how many goals L. Brown chipped in with. Quality defender too.
Some crackers in there, some a few of you might not want to watch.
So much ambition at the start of the season, actually thought we'd go straight back up.

Ridiculous. I find it laughable that the owners think Cardiff will be a big team by being red , owners like that will do an MK Dons..RubyArmyCTFC wrote:Rumours going around that Cardiff City will be re-branded as a club. As a result they will change their club colours from blue to red .

Few pictures from the last game of our football league era.
Going to hurt all summer i think
Looks like Crawley has been replaced by Fleetwood Town in terms of moneybags, surely one of these 2 clubs will turn sour sooner or later when the money runs out.

Forest Green are the money bags for next season Radford.
Also, it's sad to see Hereford go as it will be even longer before we can beat you again now . And also, I wanted that ugly twat Allen to go down.
Will you post about Hereford in this thread, or in the Blue Square thread for next season? I doubt anyone on this thread would mind if you continued on here.

I can't speak for Fleetwood, but we won't turn sour. The board are smart enough to know what they're doing. I'm not expecting another promotion for a while anyway, I'm preparing for a battle next year to stay up.

Herefordians don't care what league we are in aslong as we do actually win games

Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
Yes he seems a steady defender, just depends what his wage demands are really.
We have Bartlett who was previously GK of the year in the conference.
Townsend at CB who had TOTW 3 times this season, think he'll do fine next season. Need to see the retained list really which is out sometime this week.

Re: npower Football League Thread 2011/12
Byron's a good defender. I like him but he's not been cut out for us, Buckle openly criticizing him didn't help his confidence. If we kept him I have faith that McGhee could get him back to himself. He'd be no more than a squad player though. He'd be one of the best defenders in the BSP. Wages more than likely will be high for you, though. We're a "big" club, we offer a lot on wages.
I'm waiting or ours too. A few rumours that we might be releasing Anyinsah and Zebroski among others.

Our release list was announced today, on it was:
- Josh Lillis
- Andrew Wright
- Eddie Nolan
- Sam Togwell
- Cliff Byrne
- Michael O'Connor
- Jordan Robertson
- Garry Thompson
- Aron Wint
- Ashley Palmer
I'm sad to see Garry Thompson leaving, he's a great player but has been struck with injuries recently. Not really unhappy about anyone else being released next year.
