Deep throat.
This is true, if not for America Mr Saddam Hussein would have gained control of Kuwait and most likely still be in power as we speak.

Not only that, but it also improves my chances of seeing a world class 30+ year old this summer. It seems that every team has one except for the Union.Juventino. wrote:Glen Damon wrote:Fantastic.

I wish. I am looking to get a season ticket next year, so that would be brilliant. I have gotten the impression that Nowak wants to make them into a selling team, though.Juventino. wrote:The Union should try to land Del Piero.

That is a list of them all, I believe. The Unions only have one, and that is Freddy Adu. I reckon he's starting to fulfill some of his potential, his performance against New York prior to that ridiculous sending off was outstanding.

Re: Summer Transfers Thread 2012
De Ro isn't a DP for DC? And Rost isn't for Red Bulls?
Didn't realize so many teams only had one for two DPs. Kinda sad that we're one of two teams with 3 DPs yet we're at the bottom of the table. Problem is we have two DPs that play essentially the exact same game and they can hardly play together, then we have one poacher who gets absolutely no service. I swear Koevermans gets like two chances given to him per game and he usually takes one or at least gets close with those two chances. If we actually had a capable playmakers he would be ripping shit, but he's just not the kind of guy that can create a lot of his own chances.
There was also rumors of TFC going for Del Piero but I'm pretty sure they're just rumours as we'd have to drop one of our DPs or sign him as a regular player which I don't really see either happening.

DeRo makes DP money. But, there are ways (allocation money) to pay down contracts so that they don't cost as much against the salary cap. So, while DeRo makes just as much as Salihi and Boskovic (and in fact, I think he makes the most out of the three), he is not technically considered a DP. It's a weird twist to the rules, but I've always considered him such since he signed the contract this winter.
And Del Piero would be fantastic for MLS, but I think he would be a gargantuan waste at Philly. The set up there under Nowak is such a huge waste.

Woking Football Club are very pleased to announce that 22 year old striker Loick Pires has signed from Welling United.
20 goals last season. Not bad.

But yes, I live near PPL Park, and the Union played some nice stuff last year, but they're clearly struggling to adapt to life without Le Toux. Pajoy has started scoring, at least.

yeah man I've been to 5 or 6 games over the past few years, my college is about 20 minutes from Chester. Indeed, life after Le Toux has been extremely difficult. Not just Le Toux though, pretty much the whole roster (Mondragon, Mapp, Harvey, Paunovic, Califf all gone)

Yeah, the team looked worse after Harvey left last season, and nearly missed out on the playoffs because of it. Mondragon leaving was expected, but MacMath has struggled to replace him properly.fluffy_kittens wrote:yeah man I've been to 5 or 6 games over the past few years, my college is about 20 minutes from Chester. Now that Califf is gone, it looks like Sheanon Williams, the MLS Glen Johnson, will be playing CB.

Brilliant move, really talented player. Proven himself in the Europa League, got something like 6 assists in the group stages. Can see him becoming a Di Maria kind of player. Should get a lot of game time too seeing as Gaitan is leaving.BladeGunner wrote:Ola John to Benfica. Can anyone shed any light on how good a move this is for Benfica?
Heard it was €9 million, quite expensive.

Joao Pereira: Lisbon -> Valencia. €4m.
Bit odd but for the price it's a good signing.

Thats fairly good deal for Twente, he had a comet like season for them but imo it isn't anything major or unusual out of the league, it will be interesting to see if he can settle, i wouldn't say he goes to a better league but the top of the table is certainly a bit better with Benfica, Porto & Sporting maybe Braga vs Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Twente maybe AZ as the usual suspects at the top (But not by much, i don't reckon the Dutch and the Portuguese tea,s facing each other much lately, but based on UEFA performances Portugal takes the cake) . Ricky van Wolfswinkel i suppose surprised some so i guess Ola John can do it as well. Saw him tear apart OB up close here in Denmark, he pulled off a hat-trick of assists in that game.
