Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Darren Dein would talk to anyone. I doubt AC Milan will pay the fee we would want for him anyway. Hopefully we just slap £200k a week in front of him.

Yeah I don't think he would go to Milan anyway, they already have Robinho, Ibra, Pato, Cassano and El Shaarawy.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Agents have to come out with usual "He would love to speak to Inter because the president has nice hair." bullshit to keep clubs interested. Even though him smashing in goals every game should do that.

If the agent says it.. I'm sure he's talked to RVP about it.. and he said go for it, why not.
Don't think RVP is more loyal than he really is.. don't get caught up in the hype of the past few weeks.. I know he isn't.
Long season left to be played.

Of course he's spoken to RVP but I doubt Robin said "Release a comment saying I'll speak to Milan." I think he'll leave anyway but I just think that's his agent creating more options.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
That's my point.. people shouldn't believe RVP will stay just because of these recent exciting matches. He wants trophies before he's done, not a few exciting mid-season wins.

Agent saying van Persie is open to talking to Milan can translate to "Listen, Arsenal, I'll get my client to start talking to other clubs if you don't offer him a gigantic contract."

Robin Van Persie out and Lukas Podolski in? Seems a fairly bad trade to be honest.

Podolski will be perfect for Arsenal.
We're possibly the best looking club in the league.

Good. Podolski is an excellent player, and he'll with the help of Fabby, Szczesny and Koscielny will adapt easily to London, I only wish he were playing for us, not Germany.
who is that in your sig

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I find this a quite ambitious move by the club and I think it is quite encouraging. With the reports that we won't have much money to spend if we don't qualify for the Champions League, I find it quite interesting that money is being spent on players before the season ends.

There's a big chance of Van Persie leaving but it hasn't happened yet.

Fair enough. If he stays it's brilliant. If he doesn't then I'd say you are swapping a magnificent and talismanic striker with a slightly inconcistent one, who can be absolutely brilliant on his day.

You act like this will be the only move made. Slow down. Why even bother mentioning that..

Because I felt like it.
With Van Persie staying the Podolski - Van Persie - Chamberlain/Walcott parntership should be absolutely lethal. However without Van Perise you would lose a bit of potency, regardless of who you brought in.

We do lack creativity, or do you actually think Rosicky can keep his 8 game form over a couple more years? Let's be honest here, this guy was demoted to Bayern's reserves for not performing well, I wouldn't say experienced goal scorer tbh. Progress is progress but it's not exactly 'ambition'

Robin..
IS NOT FUCKING LEAVING.
End of story.
As for Podolski, he's a proven goal scorer in one of Europe's top leagues, he'll be a more than able deputy for RvP, might even allow RvP to play deeper if we're lacking midfielders, with out injury record that's something good to have, he's not creative enough to be a winger for us I don't think, he would be one of the last choice wingers.

Not really seeing as no one has any real idea, bar the man himself, if he is going to leave or stay.
