Hart has a good record so far, as does Parker, and Barry.. etc..

Oh I wouldn't promote Barry to captain, I don't think he has the natural authority for it. He's still a model professional though.

Parker for the Euros, then Hart afterwards so he can be captain for the qualifiers, get experience as captain and be ready for the World Cup. If Harry is manager (depending on how the trial goes) then I could easily see him giving it to Parker until he retires from England.

Barry should be one the first names on the teamsheet providing he is played alongside someone who is mobile. I hate how most think Barry is shit but Mancini plays him every week.

The captaincy should switch from game to game. This would increase team unity and it would not place any player on a pedestal above the other players.

I don't rate Barry that highly, he's an alright player, he deserves to get some games for England, but I think there are better English midfielders than him. If you compare him to the central midfielders around the world he isn't good enough.

Gerrard if he still deserved to be on the team
Rooney if he didn't make out to be a big risk (which he would be)
Hart because we all know his place in net is set for years to come, has experience and doesn't have controversy surrounding him.

Making Rooney captain could go either way, he could to put it bluntly man up and except his responsibilities resulting in much better performances or he could crumble under the pressure. Huge risk, huge gain.

He came into the World Cup injured, and he was one of pretty much the whole squad who had an awful tournament.

Then it came out he'd been shagging another bitch and he was pretty shit for United and England for a while.

He was probably our best player in World Cup qualifying, I'd say their pretty important games.

If I remember correctly we played pretty shite teams in the world cup qualifying.

Disagree all you want. We're always in pot 1 for qualification campaigns, so the best we come up against is the likes of Switzerland.

If you look at other international teams, their key players, play consistently better than Rooney. Suarez for example played a pivotal role of Uruguay's copa america success through being their top goal scorer at the tournament. He also scored one or two goals at the last world cup didn't he? In comparison to Rooney who if I'm correct hasn't even scored at the world cup stage, is a disappointing one.

The last time he went into a major tournament fully fit he was arguably our best player, as a teenager.

Iniesta had the same injury as Rooney during the World Cup, I believe. And he didn't exactly play poorly.
