Cetnarski on the other hand is great!
And now Pietrasiak gets a red card for Slask. Last man and he pulls Ljuboja down. Safe to say legia's won this.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
Half Time, 3-0 for Legia.
Novo is bad. Maybe it is his first game, but if Rybus or Radovic was playing, then Legia would be up by some more.
Feel for Slask though, they don't deserve this. They've been attacking Legia from the kick-off. Scoreline doesn't reflect the match at all. That's football though.
Lenczyk has some balls though, he is playing a 3-2-3-1 despite being 1 man down.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
18 year old Zurek came on for Nacho Novo and looked much better than him since coming on.
Why doesn't Legia rely more on their youth? Fuck Blanco and Nacho.
-----
Radovic also came on in the second half, glad too. Legia missed him versus Sporting in both legs. I thought Radovic would be out for a longer time. I wonder how Legia will line up?
Ljuboja
Zyro Wolski Radovic
Vrdoljak Gol
?
I don't think Blanco and Nacho are good enough. Extra depth if anything.

Wisla game kicked off.
We should win. If we don't, safe to say we don't have a shot at winning the league.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
Yup.
Aside from the first goal scored in the first 52 seconds where it looked like Slask was sleeping, they were decent goals, the other goal they managed to find space and get around Slask's defense, and the other two goals were set pieces. It is a little harsh to blame the Slask defenders, especially since they did well overall in the second half after the red card and playing with 3 at the back.
Score really didn't reflect the game, but that's football.

Czekaj 3 red cards in 3 consecutive matches. #consistent.
Atleast Bunoza is being given a chance. He is really good but hasn't been given much chances under Maaskant and then got injured.
He and Czekaj are our future starting pair.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
So I think after last weekend it is safe to say Legia are favorites to win the league. Most deserving of it too. Slask look shit since the league restarted, Lech is a fucking disaster and Wisla has been all season.
Some news today.
Patryk Malecki --> LKS Lodz on loan for the rest of the season after disrespecting Wisla.
Also Bakero has been sacked from Lech Poznan via phone call after his loss to Chorzow on Saturday. Assistant Manager Mariusz Rumak to take over...
This is the highlights from that match:

Zienczuk's goal (starts at 2:09) is a must see. It is in the Top Goals of the Week in Europe.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
So some news in Poland.
First of all, RIP to Henryk Baluszynski, 39 year old former international and striker for Gornik, Bochum and Arminia. He was battling heart disease and had two heart attacks today, didn't recover.
And the bigger news is that Kazimierz Moskal, Wisla Manager has been sacked, and young, talented Michal Probierz will take the Wisla seat.
This is incredibly unfair to Moskal. He has been fine at the helm, not amazing, but fine. He only had the job for 2 months. It makes me angry how we have treated him. He's been a loyal player and assistant manager throughout the years for us, and a great asset and this is how we repay him? Gah, angers me. Moskal is a good manager with good ideas and experience working under Maaskant, Petrescu and Skorza, the 3 most successful Wisla Krakow managers of the last 10 years. Hopefully he goes on to manage Lech Poznan, who will likely be looking for a new manager at the end of the season.
As for Probierz, I am excited at the prospect of him managing my club. Probierz is a very young (37 I think) talented manager, and he proved his worth at Jagiellonia and I was always fond of him. From what I gather, he was met with unrealistic expectations in Greece with a shit squad and no room for investment, and quit because of it, but I have no worries. Wisla is a club with resources, and Probierz is a talented manager. Maybe he will rescue the season for us?

You can't be fucking serious.
You prioritise a new manager over someone dying? Well that's a bit heartless.

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
Ohh this is a touchie situation here but since no one has bothered to translate his obituary to English most likely none of us heard of him. RIP
Anyways a little later today we have Cracovia v Zaglebie in a massive relegation dogfight. This should be interesting although both teams seem to be in very poor form. Can anything better than a boring 0-0 draw be expected here?

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
Both teams are talented sides that were supposed to be pushing for Europe this season after a supposedly good summer transfer window.
Both sides failed to live up to expectations, went through many managerial changes, and general instability and both ended up fighting for relegation. Tensions are high, and it might be a good match to watch, or it could be utter crap and a 0-0 or something.
Zaglebie signed former Bundesliga starter and Czech international, Jiri Bilek btw.
I made a post in the Polish forum regarding Lubin and the league in general on a polish forum for those interested (mostly you Weather )

I kinda don't want Lubin to get relegated...
It is frustrating seeing sides that have potential to become good league sides get relegated on one poor or unstable season. All the work and money invested is lost. Now that our season is close to it's final third, what are your opinions on expanding the league to 18 teams?
I realize that the quality of the 1 Liga is low and that many sides if promoted would simply be unable to compete, but so what? Only well run sides should stay. Sides like Slask, and this season Podbeskidzie. Sides that are ill ran and not good enough should go down like LKS. This will give mid-table clubs a buffer so that if they do poorly because of managerial or money issues (Lubin, Cracovia this year) or simply after coming out badly in transfer window and not finding their way (Lechia) they have a chance of just staying up instead of going down like Gornik did previous seasons ago, and then allow them to build on what they have and maybe have a run for the title like Jagiellonia.
More games means Ekstraklasa players are playing more often, which results in bigger squads which will allow reserve and youth players more game time and hopefully indirectly improve the scouting of lower divisions and push clubs to develop their youth systems, and at the top, will mean our clubs can compete in both Europe and domestically before becoming overstretched like Lech Poznan previous season. 2 extra matches for clubs to collect ticket sales from as well.
There are drawbacks as well, clubs could accumulate bigger debts and not deal with it due to staying up. Though you could argue that if they did, relegation wouldn't save them anyway. (Bytom) And bigger squads means bigger wage bill, and sponsorships aren't high enough for clubs to deal with that.
Anyway, it was a discussion I wanted to bring up. What are your thoughts?

Re: Ekstraklasa 2011-12
Lech vs Wisla finished 0-0 yesterday. Not really an exciting game, both teams had new managers. Lech actually looked somewhat decent for once until Mozdzen got sent off.
Right now, Lechia is actually winning 2-1 against Gornik Zabrze believe it or not. If they win this, they get 4 points clear of relegation zone.
In about an hour time, Legia kicks off with Podbeskidzie. Radovic still isn't 100% fit so he is being rested, and Nacho Novo and Blanco aren't good enough, so all three are benched in favor of Legia's youth, Wolski and Kucharczyk.
