I've always known he's pretty tall but I've always wondered if he is good at headers. I only ever watch the big clubs in the BPL so have never really seen much of him.
This brings me back to something else, tall players who aren't particularly good with their heads, they might win a lot of headers because they are freakishly tall but don't convert too many headers. Which makes me think of the opposite, players on the smaller side but that are quite effective when it comes to headers.(i.e. Hernandez and Miguel Sabah.)
He's scored 7 headers in his career if I recall correctly.
It's all in the mindset of players.
As for you not watching van Persie, it's quite a shame, you're missing out on one of the most talented players on the planet.
As for all you haters who think Wenger is wasting Walcott out on the wing, especially you Jordi, he really is wasted on the wing with his blistering pace and the fact he's assisted van Persie more than any other player just proves that putting him on the wing is Wenger biggest mistake yet, let's just throw him upfront and drop van Persie, he'd be a great poacher..
But wait, when was the last time Wenger ever played a poacher? Don't remember? In Wenger's style of football, there is no poacher, the attacker has to be extremely talented on the ball and has to possess great vision and the ability to work with other, van Persie, Bergkamp, Henry, all great footballers, something Walcott is not, he's a very fast player, you play him upfront in our system he won't score a single goal and no-one else will, he's not the one to lead the line and link up play, even Adebayor linked up player, for what he lacked in vision and flair he made up for in physical stature and performance.
Walcott is not a lone striker, Walcott is nothing like Henry, he's a total different player. The wing where he is best at for he can use his pace to get in between the full-back and centre back, causing havok, creating goals and scoring some himself.
End of story.
