Cause they could make a packet on him and he's injured all the time.ResurrectionRooney wrote:VivaRonaldo wrote:Wesley Sneijder and Jordi Alba.

Why would we sell the best player in the world?

Maybe Sneijder would want to move from a sinking ship.

They could use the cash they get for him to strengthen other positions. He's barely played this season anyway.

Hercules Gomez as part of the forward rotation, as long as he doesn't interfere with Escoboza getting some play time.

All he needs is five minutes at the end of the game to score. That shouldn't interfere too much.

We never have, not in my view anyway, although we did sell Ronaldo who Ferguson said this aboutVivaRonaldo wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:

“Without question, in my mind, he is the best player in the world by absolutely miles. He is streets ahead of Messi, streets ahead of Kaka.”
More poor judgement. After the Champions League Final he said that if he could sign one player from Barcelona it would be Mascherano as well. Senile.
Anyway, we sold Ronaldo because we received a world record transfer fee for him, and because he was desperate to leave, partly because Real Madrid would pay him in accordance with his status as the second greatest footballer in the world. Wesley Sneijder is quite happy to stay at Inter, where he is overpaid, and there is very little chance of us offering even a British record transfer fee for him, let alone a World record, nor is there any chance of us paying even market value for his wages, let alone matching what he's on at Inter.
Also, it's the the middle of the fucking season, when they are in chaos without him due to injury. I can't think of any team who has sold their best player while they are in as deep shit as what Inter are for the last 10 years, let's not forget this team are World Champions, the idea of not qualifying for the Champions League, which they sure as fuck won't do if they sell Sneijder, is an absolute catastrophe. If they're going to sell him, they'll wait until the summer.

We don't just need Sneijder to agree though, we need the Moratti to agree too. If you're the Captain of a sinking ship you don't sell your lifeboat. Summer they might sell him, January, no chance.Zzonked wrote:Maybe Sneijder would want to move from a sinking ship.
What, sell their best player, then by loads more players to strengthen elsewhere? I know they've done that before, but that was in the summer, you can't bed in a whole new set of players in the middle of the season and expect to have it work straight away.BladeGunner14 wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:

Why would Sneijder even want to play for a team in the Europa League when his current team are in the Champions League?

A striker, someone with a bit of pace about them, Hooper, Rodriguez, or Sharp are my picks.
Maybe a keeper too.
EDIT: Jack Butland.

For his ego, be the saviour of Manchester United.
In all seriousness, Inter is a club that has no future, FFP is going to kill them.

Manchester United are looking to be heading the same way as Inter in a few years time.ResurrectionRooney wrote:coolhead33 wrote:Why would Sneijder even want to play for a team in the Europa League when his current team are in the Champions League?

I'd say Leeds United would be a better parallel, a club drowning under the weight of its own debts.
Still, United aren't going that way at all, we're in great financial shape. Turnover of £331.4m, Operating profit of £111m, pre-tax profit of £29.7m, cash reserves of £150m, there's absolutely nothing wrong with United's financial health. We could quite easily have spent £200m this summer and been no worse off than a couple of years back.

Not an entire set of players, just a couple. Sneijder's had a poor season really, so it wouldn't hurt to let him go for a tidy sum and buy two or three good players. Someone like Suarez or Arshavin to hit the ground running is a possibility.

Defensive midfielder and a striker. We could also do with a playmaker but that can wait until January, and Gerrard's return might help us out there.

That will be hard to match without Champions League football. Once Fergie is gone you will be slowly going down unless the glazers sell up. Leeds are hardly drowning now. We have learnt from our mistakes although the only thing that is holding us back is not taking little minor risks and spending money on hotels instead of a team.ResurrectionRooney wrote:coolhead33 wrote:

Alex from Chelsea and Giuliano from Dnipro.

Biton, he's on loan, we should sign him permanently.
We should get a backup striker (and we are linked to several), a new centerback and a new leftback.

I can't see Marchisio going to Manchester United, not when Juventus are pushing for the title and is thriving under Antonio Conte.

I can understand why United would appeal to him but generally Italian players don't do well in England and he has no reason to leave.

We'll have Champions League football though, we're still virtually dead certs to qualify ever year. Everyone seems to think that Ferguson's departure will be this great cataclysm for the club, but in all reality, that's not the case. Ferguson has been taking United downhill for several years now, it's him who's responsible for us going out of the Champions League before Christmas, and he should have left the club after the Champions League Final in May.

A new CB, Cahill would be nice. Maybe a new winger as well, not sure who though.
