I may not have been the biggest deal for Arsenal to win it last season but it was a big deal that they lost it because their aspirations were high and results in the CC can get your fans behind you and your direction.
No shame in losing a close battle against an equal team but losing to an inferior team when you are playing a solid 11 can backfire
Good teams may not care but great teams have the attitude that every competition is worth winning

Gave us the small consolation that we didn't have a trophy less season for the first time in 5 years.Sean wrote:kyro7 wrote:But you're not going to win the league or CL tbf.
Maybe not, but the CC is nothing that great. Did you really feel that much better a few years ago when you won the CC against Villa but didnt win the PL or CL?

Obviously not as much if it happened in another competition, but it still mattered.

Same when we got beaten by Northampton.

The Arsenal fans last night were still discussing the match afterwards, some of them showing displeasure toward lacklustre performances from Chamakh, Gervinho or whoever. They clearly cared they were beaten. No-one wants to be beaten.
That's why it was a bit strange that last night, you and Luke acted like you didn't care. If it was just an act, fair enough, but if you ACTUALLY didn't care, then questions need to be asked of your support.
The team clearly cared, the fans at the stadium clearly cared, the manager clearly cared. Yet you and Luke 'didn't' ... ? Okay.

It wasn't your reserves though. You had Rooney, Berbatov, Valencia, Giggs, Neville, Evans, Brown, Owen, Rafael, Carrick and would of had Vidic had he not got injured in the warm up. All of those are either first team regulars or experienced players.Laurencio wrote:I wanted to kill our reserve squad after we lost to Fucking Leeds....
