I'd have to question Vermaelen over Vidic.

You would think that, you are a Liverpool supporter. Put your biases aside and a neutral could easily view any or all of those players as being better than Suarez. Torres and Drogba are far more experienced, proven players than Suarez, and Hernandez is a better goalscorer. I do think Suarez is a better footballer than Hernandez, but its not laughable that someone would rate a better goalscorer as a better striker.

If you include HErnandez over Suarez because Hernandez is a better goal scorer then why do you include Rooney over RVP when RVP is the better goal scorer.

    I know.
But read my post... I want to know the top 5 strikers.
RVP as a striker is better than Rooney.

Also have you seen Ferdinand and Evra this season, they have been shit?
    Valencia over Bale?

You are also saying De Gea is better than Hart and Reina? Laughable. They have both performed much better and are proven.De Gea may become better but IS not better.

O'Shea and Evra over Baines? Have you ever even seen Baines play? I remember he caused you lots of problems recently.

Carrick hardly even starts for United now, how can he better than players like Tiote, VDV etc?

Silva is not a winger.Stop playing so much FIFA.

I am ranking them in order of best player in whatever position.

Also have you seen Ferdinand and Evra this season, they have been shit?

Ferdinand has been immense, apart from one bad game, constantly changing partners doesn't help. Evra has been very good for the last month, and is proven over a longer period than this season.

    Valencia over Bale?

Yes, he is much more effective. Bale is more flashly, I'll give him that, but Valencia is more consistent.

You are also saying De Gea is better than Hart and Reina? Laughable. They have both performed much better and are proven.De Gea may become better but IS not better.

Go and read the facts, de Gea has made more saves than practically any goalkeeper in the Premier League.

O'Shea and Evra over Baines? Have you ever even seen Baines play? I remember he caused you lots of problems recently.

Yes, I don't rate him, as a player or as a person. He might score the odd penalty, but he's a crap defender.

Carrick hardly even starts for United now, how can he better than players like Tiote, VDV etc?

Carrick not starting has been a big reason for United's inconsistent start to the season. Tiote is just a big fucking beast with no talent, Carrick is a much better player, and van der Vaart is a forward.

[QUOTE}Silva is not a winger.Stop playing so much FIFA.[/quote]It's the closest approximation of his position.

RR, VDV is actually classified as a midfielder, he plays just behind the striker or in a CAM position. Which is midfield.

Thanks for actually replying with some argument unlike most people here.
Baines is arguably the best crosser of the ball along with Bale in the league.Baines is not great defensively but is much better than Evra and O'Shea going forward.
Don't looks at stats for De Gea.. he is making those save because your defense has been allowing so many shots on target every game.He is no way better than Hart in terms of reflexes and agility.
Bale has the best cross in the league, more pace, better link up and more technical ability than Valencia.

But you're obviously right, that's why Ferguson has complete faith in him and hasn't played Lindegaard instead of him at times this season.

    1) A defenders duty is to defend is it not? It means Baines may be good going forward, but he should also be judged mostly on defending abilities. Going forward really is a bonus.

    2) So don't look at stats for De Gea because his defence is allowing more shots? Surely this helps his case that he is a good keeper because although he has an inconsistent defence in front of him he's still able to keep shots out?

    3) Bale as much as I love him is a kick and run player, although he is starting to improve more, there could be an argument that Valencia offers more. Although I do love Bale, and believe he is quality, and better then Valencia, it's just you could make that argument.

GK: Yeah a defenders job is to defend, but a modern fullbacks need to be able to do both attacking and defending to a competent level. So taking attacking ability should be taken into account. Atleast IMO it should.

Well I mean if you're talking about a wing back yes. But surely you shouldn't rate one defender higher because one can attack better and barely defend, where as the other one would be good at defending and decent at getting forward, because the second is the better at doing his job description shifty

I mean that stats cannot work because De Gea has saved more because he has had more shots come to him. It's unfair to compare him with others because you never know how keepers like Hart would respond to more shots. Also in terms of reflexes and agility Hart outclasses him.

A wing back... look at Dani Alves, he has to go forward and it really doe snot make a big difference if the 2 CBs are solid and the other FB stays back.If you look at it almost lots of teams have a FB that is only good going forward because the defense can cope with him staying upfront.

I'm not saying they have equal weight. Just that I see being a good attacker as an important part of a fullbacks games now.

A better defending fullback will always trump a better attacking fullback. I just don't see being a good attacker as a 'bonus' Razz

Can't really be bothered, think the list of good wingers gets low once you've put in the Spurs and United ones.

I just realized I put Vidic first in CB when he's not even played that much this season. I guess I subconsciously didn't base it on this season alone. think

He carried Fletcher all the way until March last season, and when Fletcher finally fucked off, Carrick propelled United to the Champions League Final. Carrick has started 3 Champions League Finals by the way, that's 2 more than Paul Scholes, more than Steven Gerrard, more than Xavi Hernandez, more than Andres Iniesta, and he's won 4 Premier Leagues, that's more than Gerrard, more than Patrick Vieira, more than Thierry Henry. Tiote has never, and will never do either of those things even once because he isn't talented enough.
