Completely different players. Gerrard is a more all-round player and Wilshere is a more 'silky' player who has the potential to turn into the next Xavi/Iniesta.

At this moment in time, I think Wilshere would probably be the better player to have in your team.

Btw did I read correctly that someone in this thread said he was injury prone? I guess a serious injury = injury prone. Interesting.

Gerrard, whilst still influential on the pitch, is unfortunately not quite the player he used to be. A bit injury/infection prone too atm.

My vote goes to Whilshere. I wish Liverpool signed him.

I think it's pointless to compare one of the best four midfielders in the league (officially) to someone who hasn't had a good game in years.
