I wonder if he still goes by this comment he made at the start of the season aswell.. "[Lionel] Messi can do some amazing things, but anything he can do Joe can do as well, if not better. He used to shock us in training by doing footy tricks with a golf ball that most players can't even do with a football. I really fancy Joe for the [player of the year] award this season."Steven Gerrard believes that £58 million duo Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez are the most fearsome strike partnership in the Premier League.
The Liverpool captain has previously claimed that the side were in a better position having replaced Fernando Torres with the two deadline day purchases, and now feels that the pair
Carroll scored his first England goal on Tuesday night against Ghana and Gerrard says he is more than just a big target man.
“One thing that’s important to remember with Andy is that he’s superb on the floor,” Gerrard told talkSPORT.
“I know he is a big target man and sometimes as a team we have to be careful we’re not too guilty of going long too much, we need to keep passing the ball.
“If we are in a difficult game or we are chasing a game we can be more direct but the good thing to have him in our squad and why we’re so happy to have him is because we can mix it up, we can play either way now.
“We can play in behind, we can play long, and with Suarez running off him, it gives us a whole new dimension.
“We believe now that we’ve got the most feared strike force in the league.”
Gerrard has also welcomed Liverpool’s return to form under manager Kenny Dalglish and is hoping he can bring the glory days back to Anfield
“I’m really delighted to have Kenny back,” Gerrard added.
“He’s brought everyone together at the club.
“Our league form since Kenny came in is the best in the league so it’s really positive.
“We’re just going to try and win the rest of our games and try and finish as high as we can.
“The aim for us is to try and sneak back into Europe come the end of the season.
“He is a player’s manager. Players like playing for him because he talks to them, he’s honest with them but if he needs to give a b********* out he will. He’s got both sides to him.
“People talk about him being out of the game for a long time but it doesn’t seem that way.
“The way he’s been since he’s come back, it’s like he’s never been out and it’s really going well."

Not getting the funny bit, show me a team with a better strike force atm.
Plus the Joe Cole comments were just referring to his tekkers in training. Different matter on the pitch.

Arsenal and Chelsea won't win it. Neither will Man City or Spurs. We certainly won't.

Okay we'll see come the end of the season, not saying they definitely will but writing them off is a bit mad.Eternal Witcher wrote:kyro7 wrote:Why not?Dan wrote:Arsenal and Chelsea won't win it. Neither will Man City or Spurs. We certainly won't.

Re: Gerrard lol
It's true though.
Chelsea: Anelka, Torres, Drogba
Arsenal: Chamakh, Van Persie
Man United: Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov
Spurs: Defoe, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko
Liverpool: Suarez and Carroll.
I know which group/pair I would be most afraid of facing if I was a defender.

Apologies for thinking that a club, who have a history of being best at the end of the season, who have been winning games without performing and are currently sat top of the table will win the title ahead of a team that has bottled three of their potential four trophies already and a club with a new £50m striker who can't score in a brothel with a pocketload of fifties.

Well that's perfectly reasonable, to think United will win the title. What's not reasonable though, is calling us the champions when we haven't won anything yet, just because you think we will.

Re: Gerrard lol
Arsenal play with Fabregas right behind Van Persie when both fit, he's often chasing down balls to the keeper.
Anyway we saw Carroll and Suarez together V Sunderland, Carroll was shit and totally out of tune with Suarez.
