If Bender's reckless tackle put Vermaelen back on the injury list.

That's what you get from trying to mess with the Verminator

Well you can all forget about getting Hazard. There is no way Arsenal's board would sanction a move for him now that he has been priced at £40M. Same for Mario Gotze. Its nice to dream, but I can't see either of them ever joining Arsenal unless Usmanov is allowed to put forth the money since Kroenke would never do that.
He's always been shit. As for Laurent and Per I can't see either of them bulking up. Laurent could, but Per is 27 and most tall players struggle adding mass.grenade187 wrote:Djourou is fucking shit. I still think he needs to muscle up a little and so does Mertesacker.
I wasn't aware of this. He's a beast and he will only get better as he gets more PL experience.Mal wrote:Gervinho has played 9 Premier League games, scored twice, made five assists & created a goalscoring chance every 39 minutes.

Worst start in x amount of years, and on same points as Loserpool and Cheski.

Its not turned around yet. You must remember we typically always do well before the new year. Its after the new year that we need to worry about.

Dortmund confirmed that they rejected a bid from Arsenal. That bid was supposedly €30m and this was in August.

We haven't started shit though. We're only one point worse off from this time last season, and we've qualified as winners of our Champions League group.Zlatan wrote:Maybe this season we had a shit start and will end end well, unlike starting well and finishing shit like most of the seasons before

I meant in the league, August was abysmal.

September, October and early November is still the start of the season though. We've made up for August recently anyway, and you can't really blame the players there, Arsene should've strengthened the squad earlier.Zlatan wrote:Steadman wrote:

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Saw this on Tumblr and I completely agree.
“Ballon D’or is a popularity contest, if votes were given for actual form over the season RVP would be nominated. Last season he scored 18 goals in 20 games, was 3rd highest EPL scorer in the EPL and that was after he was injured for the first half of the season. He had one of the best goal returns in the world.
Face it, Sneijder and Forlan had relatively poor seasons, while players like Abidal and Benzema are there predominantly because of the club they play for.
But the fact Fabregas is nominated is proof enough that the votes are bullocks. Has an inconsistent, uncommitted and injury ridden season-> flirts with Barça throughout season -> refuses to play at end of season -> goes to Spain instead of being a true captain and watching Arsenal’s last game -> flirts with Barça more -> transfers to Barcelona -> nominated for Ballon d’or.
So don’t start with the “its for last season” bullshit.”

I thought it was €25M. Either way that was then and I can't see us upping the bid to the price they want. Hell if we are balking at spending an extra £5M to sign M'Vila, I can't see us forking over another €15M to sign Eden.

Do it. I wouldn't mind giving them 1/4th of our squad tbh.
Semi worried about this Fulham match, 3 points would just be fantastic.. with Liverpool and Chelsea having a good chance to lose points this weekend.
But with Fulham's anti-football sometimes.. and defensive mindset, set pieces.. set pieces..
Van Persie, Vermaelen, and Ramsey.. go rape shit.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Wenger
- Spoiler:
- Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Gervinho is one of the best signings in the Premier League this season.
The £11million capture from Lille boasts some impressive statistics in England since his transfer from Ligue 1 with five assists, creating a chance every 39 minutes.
However, of those nine league games the Ivory Coast forward has netted just twice for the Gunners - a strike-rate that has come in for some criticism.
But Wenger is far from worried about the 24-year-old and instead insists Gervinho has been "absolutely fantastic" since settling into North London life.
"I think he is one of the best signings in the league so far. At the moment, Gervinho is a fantastic provider but he also creates space for the other players because he always goes behind defenders," Wenger told the Daily Mirror.
"The problem with Gervinho is that he is in the opposite position of Robin van Persie. He is desperate for a goal and it's difficult once you are in that situation.
"For a long time you don't talk about it, but at some stage you have to say, 'Don't worry - try to be natural'. I spoke to him today about that, but he is not obsessed with scoring goals, it will come.
"When you start to think you are already finished but the rest of his game is absolutely fantastic.
"He works hard for the team, provides, creates space and makes great runs and I'm personally very happy with his game."
Gervinho, who recorded the most assists in French top-flight last season and scored 15, will be missing for Arsenal at the start of 2012 when he is due to play in the African Nations Cup along with club team-mate Marouane Chamakh who will be lining up for Morocco.
Boosted
However, Wenger has been boosted by the fact that Alex Song will be available after Cameroon failed to reach the finals.
The 24-year-old has grown in stature for his new club following a torrid start to his Arsenal career back in 2006.
"He had periods when he had doubts in his mind, when people say he was a bad buy, when you are a young boy that is difficult to take, but Alex has got over that," said the French tactician.
"Either you play somebody or you don't. That is the best way to show confidence in a player."
