That's ok, we're fucked if he gets injured.
Surprised Mertesacker starts over Koscielny.

I don't get it Arise
Mertesacker hasn't actually done anything great, Koscielny has outperformed him in many opportunities together and you still don't think he's good enough for Arsenal? I don't understand this Mertesacker hype, he hasn't actually had to do anything and when he has he's just flopped it

In recent weeks, Koscielny has been our best player.

He reads the game better then most defenders in the PL, and times his tackles, interceptions, heading e/t/c almost perfectly, and also is a decent passer. Sometimes he gets out-muscled, but that's a lot less recently because he's bulked up, and he can also get caught out with the offside trap at times, but that's more to do with the whole back line then just him.
Nah. I don't think I underrate him at all. I just don't rate him period. Many of you were talking him up since the moment he landed even after many shit performances, you're one of the many ones. Laurent has progressed this season from last season, but I still don't rate him as being good enough to start at Arsenal.
Also I would hardly say he has had a bad game bar the odd blip. He's fucked up a lot more than you like to admit. Need I mention the Blackburn game. Ignoring the own goal he was easily the worst defender on the field and had more than just odd blips.
No we/I wasn't, stop talking shit. I've rated him for about a year, the first few months he was awful but it was to be expected.
The odd blip is the blackburn game, bar that he's been very good this season.

I haven't actually said anything positive about Per lately, he has been average at best, but he is also brand new much like Laurent was last season. I admit I was wrong about Laurent, he is not garbage as I thought he was close of last season. That being said I still do not think he is good enough to be at Arsenal and wouldn't start at many of the top clubs in England and Europe except for us. Per will come good because I rate him as a player and if he doesn't then he doesn't. I've been wrong before and I am sure I will be wrong again, but I still do not care for Laurent. There are three players at Arsenal that I just cannot like and they are Diaby (because he is straight ass), Arshavin (don't really need to say why with him since I have done it many times over), and Laurent. As for Laurent I am on the fence about him, but I just can't like him because he just isn't "Arsenal" enough for me and when he fucks up, he REALLY fucks up. Birmingham, Blackburn, etc are perfect examples. Maybe one day I will like him, but right now I just don't.

Not talking shit, stating truth. You've been championing him since virtually day one. I don't even need to say anything to you about Laurent and you will find a way to champion his cause. Hell I have been in back and forth discussions with other people and you find a way to chime in about him when the comments are directed to another person. It's all good, you like him, that much is obvious. I don't, that much is obvious. It is what it is. Don't really see the point in going back and forth with you over him since its been done to death already.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I find it funny that with players like Santos, Walcott, Arteta etc starting at our club Arise singles out Koscielny (arguably our best defender this season) as the weak point in the squad

No your not, you're talking shit. I get that you don't like him, fine, but I haven't championed him since day 1, I was critical of him at first but I saw he could be a good player, and now he has proven that he is a good player by playing well for the past year.

Szczesny
Sagna - Koscielny/Mertesacker - Vermaelen - Gibbs
Song - Ramsey
Chamberlain - Wilshere - Gervinho
Robin

Would be interesting to see how that team would do. Ramsey and Wilshere would obviously switch throughout the match, as would our wingers.
I think it's really obvious to see where we need to improve looking at our strongest XI there. In order; left back, winger, central midfielder, center back. Then we can worry about adding strength in depth.

Off top of my head i'd go for them.
A right sided winger would be better than Armero though but i can't think of anyone

Here's a hint, the last time he scored a goal was also the last time he gave a damn about the club.Sean wrote:He just never does anything, I cant remember the last time he scored a goal.

I'm not sure, I was just looking at his stats and it said he scored in the FA cup.
