Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
People kept rejecting my offers, so it pissed me off. Ajax wanted £13m for van der Wiel..

Not a big fan of the new tactics screen, the pitch and everything on the right hand side looks a bit too squashed, last year it was cleaner, more easy on the eye.

that's not a bad deal.....
and what's wrong with johnsen?
if you want a fairer deal, look for rightback who only has a year left in his contract. di silvestri's contract expires in june 2012 i believe. and he's italy's future starting RB, lots of potential
mariano, ansaldi, zuniga, and torosidis's contracts expire soon also from the top of my head

I think the whole thing looks a bit squished. Too much information packed into not much space.

I agree, from last year, there were plenty of things that they could have worked on, the look of it didn't need altering at all in my opinion.

I'm 7 points clear of Spurs with 34 games played, 8 points clear of City with a game in hand. If I don't win the league I'll resign, my remaining fixtures are Chelsea(A), City(A), West Brom(H), Spurs(H).

I finished 4th, and my expectations was 'title challenge' cos that was the lowest.
I just retired and i've just given myself the job again, fuck that tbh

Well obviously Liverpool have high expectations with their squad, that must feel fucking shit, having to go in again.Cam wrote:kyro7 wrote:What? Where did you finish in the league?

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
Hmm, I think 4th comes under Champions League qualification through league position.
Dan is right though, raise the issue on the SI Forums and see what they say.

They gave me a new contract and then about 3 weeks later sacked me...
I'm going to play as someone else, not in england though, any ideas?
That's really depressing, first time i've been sacked and I was so happy cos I did a massive comeback in the second half of the season

How many points?
I think I did well with my millions
Gavin Grant, Marcello Cacceraelli and Alberto Desideri are all top class prospects.
Grant is touted as the next great defensive midfielder rating 5 stars in potential. He will easily become an important central midfielder in my future team, and might be able to play a few matches as is.
Cacceraelli is a very versatile player who can fill in for Fletcher in a few years time, not the best talent of them all, but for 400k he was a steal.
Alberto Desideri is the next Francesco Totti, so I had to steal him from Roma. Rated to become as good as Wayne Rooney.
On to the two big signings.
Last season I noticed that I was getting muscled off the ball in midfield, and had trouble taking out team's playmakers in the middle. I searched all over for a good defensive minded midfielder, and found that Vidal was available for somewhere around £25M (less than Sissoko, M'Villa, Martinez and a host of others). I managed to get it down to £19M and he's going to be instrumental in my team for many seasons to come
Another thing I noticed, or had to notice I suppose, was that when Rooney wasn't scoring, and Hernandez was injured, or the other way around. I was really struggling to put the ball into the net. I needed another clinical goalscorer (poacher) now that Berbatov has left for Bayern Munich, and Leandro who was rated by my scouts and coaches on par with Wayne Rooney at the age of 22, with the potential to become better, fit that bill perfectly. I had to cash out about £6M more than I wanted because Chelsea suddenly wanted in on the action as well

That's fucking awful, that should never happen. I've never had a stupid problem like that before on FM, maybe Rutter has come and had a go on FM.Cam wrote:kyro7 wrote:Well obviously Liverpool have high expectations with their squad, that must feel fucking shit, having to go in again.

Your owners are apparently more delusional than your average fan on the game. Clearly you shouldn't have been sacked for that!

If there's an issue with the game, they can look into it. Realistically, you shouldn't be sacked for finishing 4th..

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
Tough game, had low fitness for it and even with 10 men I looked more likely to score, hit the woodwork twice and had a one on one but unfortunately it fell to Anderson, oh well, it's a point.. a point closer to the title.
