If Manchester City cut Tevez's contract, it wouldn't be him suing them, it'd be them suing him, for an amount in the region of £50m or so. You can't just breach your contract and walk out to another club when it gets terminated, Adrian Mutu tried that and Chelsea have been pursuing him for £20m for years.
