Manchester rivals urged to unite against rebel ahead of derby...

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2051274/Carlos-Tevez-trash-T-shirt-campaign-launched-unite-Manchester-fans.html#ixzz1bKD5V4oj

Carlos Tevez is fast becoming public enemy No 1 in Manchester and he may want to avoid the Old Trafford area this Sunday.
The Argentine striker, who quit Manchester United for rivals City in 2009, will miss this weekend's top-of-the-table derby clash after his alleged refusal to come off the bench against Bayern Munich last month has seen him cast aside by manager Roberto Mancini.
City fans have since turned on their former captain with Manchester now seemingly united in their loathing of the ex-West Ham star.

Trash your Tevez shirt: Rivals Manchester fans are being encouraged to ditch their replica Tevez jerseys at Old Trafford this Sunday
And it is highly unlikely the 26-year-old will be anywhere near his former stomping ground this Sunday with both sets of fans ready to vent their frustration towards him.
Bookmakers Betfair, club sponsors of Manchester United, will be deploying a giant rubbish 'Recycling Tevez' skips outside Old Trafford on Sunday - one half blue and one half red - for fans to dump their replica shirts with his name on in exchange for brand new ones.

Thrown away: City and United fans cast their Tevez shirts into the 'Recycling Tevez' truck outside the Etihad Stadium
Over 75,000 fans are expected to descend down Sir Matt Busby Way and they are being encourage to ditch their unwanted Tevez jerseys which will then be dispatched to his native Argentina and handed to local charities.
'Time and time again Tevez has let the fans down,' said Betfair spokesman Alex Bake.
'What better way for fed up supporters to show they want rid of him for good than by dumping their shirts.

Off you go: Bookmakers Betfair will ship all of the unwanted shirts to charities in Tevez' native Argentina
'These two sets of supporters don't often see eye to eye, but I'm sure they'll all be pleased if he leaves Manchester in the January transfer window.'
Indeed Tevez is desperate to quit the Etihad Stadium when the January transfer window opens for business with his future at City almost certainly over while Mancini remains at the helm.

Parked up: Fans will eb able to recycle their Tevez shirts from 10am on Sunday ahead of the big Manchester derby
The forward, wanted by former clubs Boca Juniors, Corinthians and West Ham, has spent the past week training on his own at Carrington after returning to the club following a two-week suspension.
News of the 'Recycling Tevez' campaign has already reached social networking site Twitter with both sides of Manchester getting in on the conversation.

All alone: Tevez has been forced to train separately from Manchester City's first team squad after his fallout with manager Roberto Mancini
One City fan, Gore93Mcfc, wrote: 'If there really is a Tevez skip outside City, I'll be dropping my Tevez shirt off. #mcfc'
And United supporter 1Philadelphia posted: 'The only thing bringing both Manchester United & Man City fans together is the ''Trash Your Tevez Shirt' Skip!'
The skip will be in the Old Trafford area from 10am on Sunday with poster mocking City's infamous 'Welcome to Manchester' slogan reading, 'Trash your Tevez shirt' with a picture of the star waving.

I'll post many more amusing baby pictures of tennis players later but I'm on my phone at the moment.

Anyway, news reports this morning saying that Tevez didn't refuse to play after all, and teammates are agreeing with Tevez. Personally, given the language barrier(s) and all, I always thought this might be the case. Don't understand why everyone took Mancini's word for it straight away.
