It's hardly desperate, we've been unfortunate to lose at Stoke, and played badly for the first time this season at Spurs, it'll pick up, give it time.

Maxi in an attacking midfield role would make sense. I think we all said this some times last year. Alas it never happened. Give him a shot I say.

Having seemingly undroppable players in the slight predicament we are in, makes it desperate. I'm not overreacting, I just have issues with the team selection.

but what would his role be, there can be many variations for attacking midfielder. maxi in past has being lampard type player, making run off the ball and constant goal threat in and on edge of box, hes not necessarily a true 'number 10' or maybe this is what liverpool want?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
He seems like the kind of player who can link up with a striker well. Put him behind Suarez and it would be great. Short, snappy passes. I like it.mauro=beast wrote:Cadbury wrote:Maxi in an attacking midfield role would make sense. I think we all said this some times last year. Alas it never happened. Give him a shot I say.

Maxi does indeed to be put in the team in place of Henderson. The latter really needs to pick his game up, in the reserves.

Downing/Maxi -- Suarez -- Kuyt
Adam - Lucas - Gerrard
Enrique - Agger - Skrtel/Coates - Johnson
Reina
Adam - Lucas - Gerrard
Enrique - Agger - Skrtel/Coates - Johnson
Reina
That's the kind of side I'd be playing in away games such as Spurs away, would have had Aquilani or Meireles ahead of Adam as well.

Don't get me wrong, Henderson could be a great player in a few years, but he's not up to the standard we need yet. We probably have the worst midfield in the top 6.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
fletcher was terrible x chelsea but henderson is much worse surely. i think at first those liverpool fans were tricked by sunderland and bruce into thinking henderson was top player. , after a few games then instead of fitting straight into the team, now they see that maybe hes not good enough but 'hopeing' he gets better in the future, but its clear that it is difficult to see how he can get better in the future? what improvement can he make? he is athletic player with powerful strike but his technical fundamentals are very mediocre. even dan will admit that it is near impossible to improve technique so what u see in henderson now, he will not change much in the future. u can only improve consistency of technicque but this just means his first touch might be slightly better and he may have better awareness on pitch with his turn and 360 vision which is only natural improvement for all players. lampard is an example of this growth curve
but to have pay 20million for player like that, its just ridicolous. henderson is like a english perrotta and should never be worth that kind of money

I would rotate him.
Yes.
We should have played Kuyt where he played against Spurs.

Reina
Kelly ---- Coates - Wilson ---- Aurelio
Spearing - Shelvey
Kuyt ------- Gerrard ------- Maxi
Carroll/Bellamy
Would be my team for Brighton.

God knows how Agger manages to get his ribs broken from that.
At least four weeks...which makes it six in my mind.

Agger will miss
Brighton | A
Wolves | H
Everton | A
Manchester United | H
Probably Norwich and WBA as well
Just hope that Coates can come in and do well. Don't really trust a Carra - Skrtel partnership at the back.

We should've kept Poulsen and played him at centre back.

Dominguez would be great.
We're being linked with Vertonghen. Would be a great player to fill in for Agger and play alongside him.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Sebastian Coates admits that the challenge of proving himself in a new country was key to his decision to come to Liverpool.
The Uruguayan 20-year-old was one of the most sought-after young players in world football when the Reds signed him at the end of August.
International team-mate Luis Suarez helped persuade him that Anfield was a great place to be and the temptation to leave his comfort zone and test himself in one of Europe's biggest leagues was too great to resist.
"The biggest attraction was the challenge: to come to an unfamiliar place - a huge club - and make a name for myself," Coates said in an exclusive interview in this week's LFC magazine.
"So far in my career, I have been very lucky; to play for Nacional, to play in the Copa Libertadores, to win the Copa America. There has been a lot of success in a short period of time. But I have achieved that in a place where I am most comfortable.
"Now, I am here, in a different country, in a different league, with different team-mates. The best players are successful wherever they go. I am determined to become an important player here at a historical stage of the club's future."
The central defender also admits that some of Suarez's words had a big influence on his decision.
"He helped me from a professional point of view," Coates added. "I knew about the history; the success and the European Cups, but he also taught me about the nature of the supporters - the way they treat the players. When you're wanted by a club that is famous worldwide - by a club with a history like this - it was impossible to go anywhere else."
The full Sebastian Coates exclusive, plus interviews with Martin Kelly and Jay Spearing, is in this week's LFC magazine.
