Defence is still shaky, our passing looked a lot better but our movement in the attacking third is still poor. We played much better in the second half.AriseForLife wrote:I missed the game this passed weekend, how did the team do? I know we won and Van Persie scored goals, but overall how did the team look?

That's good. What happened to Gervinho? I've been so busy these last two weeks I haven't really been able to follow the team much, but I see we have some starters that are out injured.Steadman wrote:Defence is still shaky, our passing looked a lot better but our movement in the attacking third is still poor. UNITED AFTER RVP?
Quick gossip column for you this morning, and we'll kick off with something for which we should offer a caveat. The following passage is taken from Martin Samuel's column in The Daily Mail, so it's not a 'gossip' story in the strictest sense, but it is gossip.
With us? Good. Here it is:
'Van Persie, who will have only a year to run on his contract at the end of this season, is on the radar at Manchester United and is the Arsenal player Sir Alex Ferguson most admires. United think they could get him, too, maybe next summer as an upgrade on Dimitar Berbatov.
'These are still inner sanctum musings, not firm plans, but evidence would suggest United are correct in assuming vulnerability. Just as Arsenal blinked first over Nasri rather than lose him for nothing, the club may have to sell Van Persie if he refuses to sign a new contract. A move to United would appeal to their captain, too. And another one bites the dust.'

What's the line-up today? I saw Chamberlain is playing in the middle? Perhaps a slim 4-4-2?

I really think Arshavin shouldn't get any time on the pitch anymore. Throw in every winger you can get, pretty much only Miyaichi anyway, and you'll be better off than with Arshavin. He's so lazy, it's embarrassing really.
Get that Ayew guy from OM, the left winger. Nah, just a suggestion. Guy showed plenty of class tonight, though.

Arshavin > All our wingers probably not Gervinho though. His laziness is made up with his momen of brilliance. If you're complaining tonight about his performancem where have you been for the past 2 years?JK wrote:I really think Arshavin shouldn't get any time on the pitch anymore. I reckon he'll start at Tottenham, took his goal very well always looking to go forward and take on his man. Gave the ball away a little too easy sometimes but atleast he tracks back if he does a mistake unlike some .

Song to become a sweeper and be the next Beckenbauer.
He was brilliant yesterday and was commanding people all game. Good to see some leadership. Shocking defending by the rest of the back four though.

Wish I watched the game, it looked game, unlucky for Olympiacos.
