That's the point ! He had the summer to address this issue but he decided to be a cheap skate and promote kids again and yet again it backfired on him. Your saying it like its not his fault our back up players are really really REALLY shit.

We had an initial £30m transfer budget which is now £70m including sales and purchase
Its not that he's a cheap skate anymore he just doesn't know how to find the right players anymore. Spent £12m on Chamberlain which was a huge facepalm. Jenkinson

No he shouldn't, Arsenal had hardly any defensive players available, they were right to play in such an attacking way, it gave them a chance of winning and made it an exciting game. The risk is that you get destroyed, and they did, but that doesn't mean the strategy is bad. If they'd gone with 10 men behind the ball they'd just have emphasised their weaknesses and neutralised their strengths, ie. attacking.

I rescind my statement. On second thought, you're right, because that probably would have meant playing more inexperienced young players or exposing Rosicky and the other lightweights. He should have a plan B though, Wenger. Barca don't have one but he should realise his team are nowhere near that standard of football.

Now probably is not the right time to sack Wenger since it is near the close of the transfer window. I do not think anyone really would want to sign with a managerless team or even with a caretaker. I do think if Arsenal lose to Swansea then Wenger should resign. You have to give him some time at the moment if things are still a mess at the end of September then he needs to go.

A new manager would need a whole summer, at the bare minimum, to even attempt at sorting this mess out.

No, not until the end of the season at least, He is a brilliant manager and there aren't too many out there who would be an improvement over Wenger. He just needs a LOT of help in the transfer market. I maybe wrong but some clubs hire people and their specific role is deciding who to buy/sell and give advice to the manager they need to bring in somebody like that, someone with a proven history of successful signings, and then give Wenger time to adjust to the new regime. Looking for young wonder kids is no longer working now I heard a pundit on Sky Sports the other day I think who said that Wenger was ahead of his time with his scouts across the globe and now the rest of the clubs have caught and have scouts all over.

He'd actually spend money. Build a decent squad too, plus he's responsable for Liverpools youth academy products today so he's quite good at bringing in through youth. If he replaced Wenger it wouldn't be a bad move at all.

But it's not going to happen and despite quite obvious failure time and time again Wenger still remains unsackable.
