Players always factor into the equation, but you have to look at the team selection, the tactics used, strengthening the team, dropping dead weight etc. Wenger is in control of all of that. The board basically give him free reign to do whatever he wants. He always says there is no money and that is flat out bullshit. True we can't drop £30-40M on one player (we do have the money to do so, don't get it twisted), but he doesn't spend money for shit until the fans are about to turn on him and then he calms them by buying a couple named players. You would think a world-class manager like Wenger would look back and see what was working when we were successful and adjust that into the modern game, but he did the complete opposite to the team.
