You think Lucas is better than Busquets?
Yup. Sergio is a very good player and even though i dislike him as much as SBSP hates suarez, i can still see he is a quality player. He was underrated a while ago but for some fucked up reason he is now over rated as fuck. I have seen people say he is one of he better midfielders of our generation and i don't see why. I rather have lucas.

Sergio Busquets is the most overrated piece of shit I've seen, Xavi and Iniesta make him look good that's all there is to it.

No way is Lucas a better player than Busquets. Lucas is a good tackler and wins a lot of tackles, but he also makes a lot of fouls as well. He couldn't play Busquets role and keep discipline anywhere near as well as he does.

Could probably do with it, but I'm up for the Morton game later now. No going back. Anyway, yeah, the argument on the previous page was that Lucas was better than Busquets, which effectively shows just how underrated he actually is.

    Lucas better than Busquets facepalm

Don't get all this Lucas love either, he was pretty decent last season and the season before as well, I remember on the old forum, the amount he got from Liverpool fans was unreal Laughing

I think he's been voted Pool's best player of last season which is ridiculous as well, people should just recognize him for what he is, an above average player at a Top 7 club in the Premiership.

You do realise the best teams in the world wouldn't want Lucas? Even for Brazil he's there because the other DM's are shit and the coach is ridiculously bad. Every team would want Busquets, to put that in perspective

I agree with this. People have forgotten quickly the fact that Lucas was being branded as a complete flop before last season. He's only even had one good year.

    Nope.

Mikel has a much better passing range, stronger, better tackler, better ball control. Just have to look at his performance vs Barcelona in 2008/09 at the Nou Camp to see what he can do. I could dig out more, too.

The main reason Ancelotti's 4-4-2 didn't work, was the lack of the DM, the lack of Mikel.

Disagree, I think Lucas is better than Mikel at most of those things (except strength) and he also covers more ground, going out to watch the match so I can't make a long post about it.

Are you saying Lucas has a better passing range then Mikel? Come on Laughing

I'd even say Mikel's a better dribbler then Lucas, although that's something that Mikel has cut down on over the years.

He averages more successful passes per game (73.1) than any other player in the Premier League – and the percentage of his distribution that has been directed forward (38%) has more than doubled since last season. In fact, his rate of sideways passes this term (55.8%) is significantly less than those of celebrated schemers such as Rafael van der Vaart (63.9%), Samir Nasri (65.4%) and Ryan Giggs (69.2%).

    Guardian, 3 October 2010.

Impressive stats for a player who most think only passes sideways and breaks up play. I could dig out more if I really had to.
