Mascherano or Busquets

Both play the same position, maybe different styles but still comparable.

You are allowed to post more than a name. Afterall, Busquets is first choice in that position for Barcelona.

Mascherano plays CB for Barca and does a good job there, for example the CL final

I prefer Busquets, but haven't seen him outside of Barca/Spain whereas Mascherano has been fantastic outside of Barcelona.

Mascherano is the better player defensively but I prefer Busquets for all around midfield play.

Busquets, obviously. He an do everything Mascherhano can defensively and he's a much better ball player.

Masch is probably better defensively, although there's not much in it, but Busquets is the better player all round.

From what I've seen of the two in Barcelona and for their National teams, Busquets is the better player. He's got better ball control, is a better passer, has better technique and is still exceptionally good defensively as well. Difficult to think of anyone in the world who is better in that position than him.

Mascherano is better as a centre back, Busquets better as a defensive midfielder(although I believe they are the top 2 in their position)

Overall, I would opt for Mascherano as the better player. Like many would say, Busquets is the better player for Barcelona, but Mascherano would show that he's one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, with any team.

But Busquets hasn't had the chance to prove that? He's first choice with Barca, and first choice with Spain. He's also considerably more comfortable with the ball at his feet than his argentine team mate.

Good point, and I doubt whether he ever would prove himself at another team. One thing to note is that Busquets can rely on his two midfield team-mates to always intercept his passes. I'm unsure as to whether two less competent midfielders would be able to do the same.

Voted Mascherano, I might be a bit biased though.
