so he's free to sign with us..
In all seriousness Bendter would be a good signing for us. Or more unrealistically, Adebayor, Berbatov, or Drogba.
Really never know though with Harry he is such a 'wheeler dealer'

when we got rejected last minute in the midseason transfer window it became apparent we'd never get him. I don't think Barca signed him though, I think the deal fell through though after the Sanchez signing. I could be wrong though. Either way we aren't getting him and at this rate we're finishing tenth.
Sorry I disagree. We have essentially the same squad that finished 4th two years ago and 5th last year, add the loanees that have returned in Bentley, Keane, Gio and Walker etc. plus a stable goalkeeper in Friedel, and we look better squad wise. Sign one or two strikers and a left back and I think we're sorted for next season IMO.
Adebayor is only unrealistic due to him being on City's books and they would never sell to us. Berbatov wouldn't leave United, but Drogba depending on what happens with any new signings for Chelsea or if the new manager likes him, you never know. I'd say only stumbling block is wages. But I've read that we may break our wage cap this summer, or very soon because we need to at some point.

I don't think we need a LB, yeah BAE isn't the most consistent LB at times, or even the best, but most of the time does his job and does it well, can't see why we would need to replace him. Unless you're talking just depth.

Depth, with Bale playing on the left wing and not looking like playing as a left back any time soon we need some sort of back-up to BAE. Yes Rose came in and did well but I personally see him as more of a winger than a left back. I say we need a natural LB as back-up to BAE incase of injury, suspension or African Nations Cup.

yes but the other teams in the league have gotten better especially Man City and Liverpool.
All I hear is us selling good players so far and signing a goalkeeper that we desperately needed but still, not enough yet.

We still have time, and even if we don't sign strikers the ones we have, if they consistently perform like I know they can then we'll be fine.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Luka Modric has delivered an explosive interview on Sunday in which he accuses Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy of going back on a gentleman's agreement, before declaring that he still expects to leave the club this summer.
Modric saw a £22 million bid from Chelsea rejected by Spurs, prompting him to head for crisis talks with Levy. The chairman insisted afterwards that Modric would not be allowed to leave White Hart Lane and that the player understood the club's stance.
However, discontent is still palpable surrounding the midfielder schemer, with Rafael van der Vaart revealing his colleague is "disappointed" by the outcome of last week's meeting, while manager Harry Redknapp confessed Modric still wants to leave.
On Sunday Modric finally broke his own silence, claiming Tottenham's chairman "did not care" what he wanted, whilst stating he still hopes to engineer a move to Chelsea before the end of the summer transfer deadline.
Asked what he would do if Spurs refuse to let him leave, Modric was quoted as telling Sportske Novosti: "I haven't thought about it at all because [not letting me go] would definitely not be good for anyone. I have already told the chairman that last summer he said we would find a mutually satisfactory agreement if a club like Chelsea came in.
"I hope that eventually he will understand the situation and that we will reach an agreement and go our separate ways in an appropriate manner."
Elaborating on his meeting with Levy, Modric revealed the Spurs chairman was happy to let the midfielder spend the season rotting in the reserves if he did not honour his long-term contract.
"A lot has been published in the press about the meeting with Levy, who gave the public a twisted account of what happened.
Daniel Levy threatened to leave Luka Modric in stands according to the Croatian © Getty Images

"I must say that I am genuinely disappointed about what Levy said to me. He didn't care about what I was telling him. It all only convinced me further that I was right to consider moving on to another club.
"I reminded the chairman of our gentleman's agreement when we were in Dubrovnik last summer and I agreed a contract extension with Tottenham. At that time, I had an open chat with Levy - that if a bigger club came in with a concrete offer, we would consider it and agree the best solution for all concerned.
"The chairman said, 'Okay, we'll sit and talk [about any offers]'. Now Levy doesn't want to talk to me and said there is no possibility that I can leave Spurs.
"He threatened me - he said if I didn't accept the club's stance, they would make me sit on the bench or in the stands."
Modric also cemented his desire to play for new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, revealing his mind is already at Stamford Bridge, not Tottenham.
"There is no doubt that Chelsea want me - they sent a concrete offer to Tottenham. I know that the new Chelsea boss said he wants me in his team. Of course I am flattered by this interest in me - it's a club that all players dream of joining, fighting for every competition available.
"It wasn't a snap decision - I talked a long time with my family and people whose opinions I respect. I thought about it, weighed it all up, and finally decided this was the best option."

ugh thats the thing though. Liverpool signs Carrol and Suarez, City signs Ballotelli and Dzeko, and we say "we believe in our strikers," when frankly last season they were terrible. Unknown players like Odemwindgie and Ba out performed our strikers. Defoe I could see bouncing back but Crouch is just Crouch but we'll never get rid of him and Pavluychenko I am unsure about. We need someone else.

Llorente would be a lot better than Rossi in that system. Doesn't really matter anyway as you've not got much of a chance of landing either.

I dont think so, if defoe can find his old form then fine but he showed absolutely no sign of it this season, he had chances (lots) and didnt take them, ironic really that all his goals were belters when hes known for being a fox in the box, also the crouch/vdv partnership just didnt happen at all after like, january. This whole modric thing might end up working out for us, just imagine if this thing forces levy to get his cheque book out and start showing real ambition to convince modric to stay

Villareal are a better team then Spurs, and have CL football, why would he go to you?
And Llorente wouldn't move unless it was to a huge club.

I think rossi wants to play in italy or england, plus despite them having CL football I still see spurs as having more ambition than villareal. And about llorente, Spurs are a step up form athletic, please dont argue that, the problem is the loyalty baque players have, dont try and act like llorentes fucking agent.

Spurs are a step up yeah, but the problem is what you said. Don't act like his agent? It's common knowledge that he has high loyalty and will take a big team for him to leave, and Spurs aren't a massive team..

why come in our thread just to tell us that we probably won't sign rossi and llorente? I think most of us knew that.
But why keep posting formations e/t/c with them in. Surely there's other strikers out there that are a lot more realistic then? Lots of people come in our thread and talk about our transfers, and how Nasri and Cesc are going e/t/c, it's what people do..
