The SPL just can't handle the Jonny Hayes.

Might go to the Caley x Celtic game on the 11th, it is within walking distance after all. First time I'll have had a chance for a while.

Well this thread got buried but a lot of interesting stuff is going on so it is time to revive this. I will start out with a simple question. Why is Hearts so rubbish this year? They have 11 games left to play and they have already lost as many games in the entire season last year.

No money and the owner refuses to spend anything/wants to sell the club.
Players weren't getting played and refused to play etc etc.

Celtic could be 13 23 points clear by the time Rangers start their next fixture on Sunday.

Nobody even cares now, the league was won by default.

The Champions were deducted 10 points, what other team could have been affected by a points deduction, in terms of the title race?

They weren't deducted 23 points though were they? You only use that excuse if Celtic win the league by less than 10 points. Until then, you can't say that. So there.

Even without the deduction we'd be 10 points clear though?
You were deducted the 10 points because you chose to go into administration, after being unable to pay back £9m in tax you stole in order to gain an advantage over other teams?
But fair enough, if it makes you feel better. the title was won by default. Not going to say why, it just was, alright?

Administration though, affects players morale i.e. performances etc. Not knowing whether they'll have a job the next day or not. Tough for all of them.

Re: SPL 2011/2012 Thread
Player's performance doesn't come under 'winning by default'. The 'default' in question can only relate to objective things, such as the 10 points deducted. If your players are adversely affected mentally or otherwise, then it's McCoist's job to sort that, that's a dressing room problem.Jelavić7|EFC wrote:ayvee1 wrote:They weren't deducted 23 points though were they? Re: SPL 2011/2012 Thread
Resorted to making up lies about Celtics history to get you through this? Whatever helps you
it's Rangers fault they're in administration though, what's it to do with Celtic?
Rangers tried to get an advantage over every other team by defrauding the taxman of £9m since Whyte has taken over, that's not even related to the £75m you're also being chased for.
That's cheating. So to say Celtic won it by default, because of Rangers trying to win it illegally ehhhhhh ... there is so many holes in that it's unbelievable
Firstly, it was Rangers financial doping that got them into this mess in the first place
Secondly, Celtic are 23 points clear .. after a 10pt deduction
So desperate, it's embarrassing.

I just think he needs to be shown he's wrong every time, he keeps on repeating it and unless someone shows how he is wrong, people would believe him.
He should actually be banned for going around and lying all the time. Would make my time on the forum much more enjoyable if I didn't have to go highlighting his lies.
I guess it's my problem though.

I don't really buy that Rangers players mental frailty due to the circumstances have brought about such bad form. Rangers had already suffered a 19 point swing with Celtic before Rangers were put into administration. You're trying to underplay Celtic's efforts to belittle their inevitable league success.

What's so good about what they've done? What was it, 14 points or something? Up until celtic vs Kille, we hadn't really lost, therefore taking 3 points at every opportunity. So, we hit an astounding run of form, then we went through a bad patch, which celtic had, allowing us to go clear and it was brought back. Therefore, what each team had done, was pretty much the exact same thing. Then the Administration kicked in and fucked us.

Sort of, not quite the same thing but yeah, fair enough. Before administration though, we were still firmly in it. Now, it's impossible. I'd be surprised if we finished 3rd now tbh.

They turned around their form under pressure. Rangers have yet to display the same quality this season.Jelavić7|EFC wrote:ayvee1 wrote:I don't really buy that Rangers players mental frailty due to the circumstances have brought about such bad form. We played better in our run imo, Fucking tore them to shreds in the OF.
Plus, we've lost the best player in scotland now.

For the purposes of conversation on this forum, can we pretend there was no 10 point deduction?
So yay. 10 points clear. Going to win the league.

Re: SPL 2011/2012 Thread
Posting this in here since it's not entirely to do with Rangers and it's a Scottish Premier League issue
Anyway, an even bigger story could emerge from the tax case. Did anyone see the revelation that players at Rangers were given secondary contracts? One for registration and domestic tax, and another for offshore payments into this Employment Benefit Trust.
In the Scottish Football Association's rules, it states that all contracts must be registered along with the players registration, with those bodies, and that any payments made to those players are in accordance with the terms of the service agreements.
Having secondary contracts alone means that Rangers would be deducted three points for each game that the player in question played.
It could mean Rangers being in breach of SFA, UEFA, and FIFA regulations for over ten years, while winning league titles, cups, and participating in Europe, including a final.
This is where there's an accusation of collusion.
Campbell Ogilvie, now president of the Scottish Football Association, was a director at Rangers. It was his departments job, and as a director of that organisation, it was his remit to ensure all clubs complied with the rules. During his time at Rangers, he was also treasurer of the Scottish Football Association. In this period Rangers put £21m into their Employee Benefit Trust. Martin Bain was chief executive of Rangers at the same time as being a member of the Scottish Premier League board. He had access to all information required to be aware that Rangers were in breach of the regulations.
As we know, Rangers, the same as every club, were required to submit a club license application annually.
If the tax case confirms that Rangers players had two contracts, and if the Scottish Football Association were to confirm that one of those contracts was not registered with them, then we've got a situation where directors of Rangers were submitting information to the Scottish Football Association, and those directors, the very same people, were knowingly overlooking the fact that information was incomplete. If that's the case then they have breached their duties to the game.

Where's the original articles that claim there were secondary contracts? Listened to the two links, is it a paper that's claimed this?

It's the Scottish Sun, they claim to have a copy of a letter sent to a former Rangers player. I doubt they would print something like that without it being watertight.
SFA are now investigating.
