Yes, it seems to be that way. If Wisła somehow pulled off the miracle to advance then probably would be their situation as well. I guess you have to feel somewhat good APOEL is doing now since they knocked you guys out.

And to think we were 3 minutes away from getting into the CL ahead of APOEL.
I doubt Wisla will come through. If Legia avoid the big boys, I think they can go far in Europe though.

Re: 2011/12 Europa League thread
I don't actually think United and City will progress far in this, due to them probably not going to care one bit about the competition they'll rest players and play a 'weaker' side. That way they'll be fresh for the league, plus only one will be in the FA Cup 4th round which leaves one of them with Europa League and Premiership. If it's United who are knocked out of the cup, then with City ahead in the league, they'll want to focus on the league.
At least I have something worthwhile watching on a Thursday again.

City will want the trophy regardless. They need that "winning mentality" that translates into beliveving they can win any trophies even when they are in trouble, and 2-0 down (Don't even think about it). Adding to their trophy cabinett is important for them, and Europa League is still a trophy. They will probaly win it too.

How can you say that though? You shouldn't be ashamed to be in the Europa League when you're not good enough for the Champions League.

Good enough for the Champions League? Clearly not, nor did I imply we were.

Not interested in having this discussion again. You should be less concerned about Celtic being reinstated into the Europa League and concentrate on your result against Malmo in the Champions League and the subsequent humiliation you received from Maribor in the Europa.
You seem to have developed a habit of following me around on here, and desperately trying to get one over on me. Are you still hurting from this?

Well done, you edited the screenshot in paint.
I'll admit that we went out because we only had 9 men, that's not a problem for me.

Still refusing to admit it happened.
Anyway, back on topic for the teams who are still in Europe.

I'm sure you'd like the chance to play in Europe if you could.
