Their benefit is that they can fully concentrate on the EL (and Copa del Rey) now, no chance for a CL spot and they will get Europa League football anyway since they play Barca in the Copa del Rey final.

Well they are 9 back of a champions league spot with 9 games to go. It is possible to make that up.
