Outside of being a player or on the coaching staff, I'm curious about other types of careers that may be available in football, and what kind of experience you might need for those jobs. Obviously there are things like being a trainer, but what else? Anyone connected with someone who has a career in football outside of the way you might expect?

Re: Careers in Football
It's not really a career in football as such but my uncle runs a sports advertising company that organises sponsorship deals for teams around England. They do stuff such as brokering kit deals for teams such as Wigan, Hull and Nottingham Forest and naming rights deals such as the Blue Square leagues.

If you intend on becoming a lawyer, than a player agent is job you could consider.
As for backroom staff, a scout is a major role people yet to be mentioned.

Apparently becoming a scout is a difficult job to get if you were not a player, coach or manager before. Especially considering alot of smaller clubs in England don't employ proper scouts anyway.polska. wrote:If you intend on becoming a lawyer, than a player agent is job you could consider.
