We are on par with the likes of Juventus, Benfica and Porto so I think it may just be a little bit of a step down for Rooney.

As a matter of fact, I do actually. I know the Gerrard family personally. And my Brother plays golf with Steven Gerrard's Dad and sometimes Steven himself. I get all the info on Gerrard. And believe me, Real have wanted him for years, going back to the Houllier days too. And as late as last season. Real made contact with Liverpool and were willing to play £30m for Steven Gerrard. Liverpool said they weren't interested. Real then contacted Gerrard about the possibility of a move to Spain. Gerrard said he weren't interested, didn't want to move. Want's to finish his career at Liverpool. Case closed.

I quote from his autobiography: "That was a high point of the season that descended into disappointment. Fifth was no nowhere. No champions league for 2003/04 was a killer. Liverpool were in decline, and Gerard came under mouting pressure. Snipers in the press and on the phone in targeted him. Liverpool were trapped down a cul-de-sac with no obvious means of getting out. I began thinking off my future. 'I'm worried, Stru,' I told my agent. 'Playing in the champions league helps me get into the England squad. Sven always watches the Champions League games. People look down on the UEFA cup.' I knew I could survive one season out of champions league, but two would harm my career. Struan took phone calls from agents representing clubs in Europe, en quiring about the situation in the contract. Barcelona, Roma and Inter Milan were apparently interested. I was flattered to read peices saying Real Madrid were chasing me, but i wasn't tempted. Liverpool season had been shite, But I didn't want to leave the club I loved."

Also "Real Madrid defiantly sniffed around. Arsenal, too. Both Milan clubs and Barcelona. Fact"

He mentions throughout his biograpghy that Real Wanted him, as part of the Galacticos. And so did all big clubs all over the world.

Well he would say that wouldn't he? He's not going to come out and say 'I said to my agent, 'I'm worried Stru' and he said 'Nobody's interested Stevie, better sign the Liverpool deal', so I went to Melwood and signed it.'

If what he's written there about being so scared of being out of the CL for two years is true then why hasn't he left Liverpool to go to one of these massive clubs?

My cousin worked in the hotel that Lionel Messi was in when he played in New Jersey in March and told me that he's though quite heavily of leaving Barcelona and joining Bayern Munich, because "the sauerkraut soup in Barcelona is atrocious".

My dad is friends with Florentino Perez though, true fact. He asked him about Steven Gerrard and Perez said (in perfect English) 'That donkey? No, maybe 10 years ago we could have made him into a top player, but he will never play for Real Madrid.'

Seriously though, if Gerrard did sign for Barcelona or Real Madrid, where would be play? There is no position available where there isn't already a at least one better player. Central Midfield? Alonso and Khedira are better. Defensive Midfield? Pepe and Diarra. Attacking midfield? Kaka and Ozil. Right Side? Fuck right off. Left side? Di Maria. Right Back? Ramos. He'd ride the bench if he was lucky, and as for Barcelona, there is absolutely no chance.

There would be no point Gerrard joining any other club or going abroad now. He's past is prime and has constant injury problems.

Especially Madrid or Barca. He's not good enough for them.

Right now he'd be on the bench, a few years ago when he was a better (or more consistent, whatever) player and Real/Barcelona didn't have the talent in midfield as they do now, yeah.

When you live in your clubs city it is pretty easy to know players.

My cousin dated former Forest player Matt Thornhill who now plays for Hibs. My mums mate used to work with Nathan Tyson's missus and she got us a signed Forest football from him with the teams autographs on. David Johnson, ex Forest player worked as a P.E teacher at my local Primary for 2 years after retiring. I know a girl that lives next door to Luke Chambers. A lad 2 years above me in school who I have a kick about with down the courts every now and then is the Assisstant Kit Manager at Forest.

so yeah, i've had my reputable sources Cool

Don't know what his handicap is though, but he loves a good game of golf. shifty That's how I found about Giggs having the affair, I knew that weeks before it got leaked over twitter, I was advised to keep my mouth shut about it. Paul Gerrard (Steven's Dad) told all the lads down the pub it was Giggs weeks and weeks before it was over twitter Laughing
