FC Barcelona and the Rest of the world? Empty FC Barcelona and the Rest of the world?

Post by Dean Sun May 29, 2011 9:57 am

They are just unbelievable. They're just comfortably by a country mile the best team in the world. No one is close to them, no one. Though it would be interesting if there was a team close their level, because no one in world football is really firing at the moment, apart from Barcelona.

Real- Meh, they're still probably the second best, but even they flatter to deceive really, they've had much better sides in the past than this current one. The team of Galactio's from the early 2000's- Raul, Ronaldo, Carlos, McManaman, Figo, Makelele. That team would of been fantastic against todays Barcelona.

Man Utd- Might be the best team in England, but they're nowhere close to Barcelona in terms of ability, that was shown tonight. And currently many would say one of the 'weakest' Man Utd sides in recent memory.

Another English team? Chelsea? Will they compete if Hiddink becomes manager and they bring in a Galactic' of superstars that's rumoured to be happening next season? I still don't see it though. Arsenal? Don't see it. Liverpool? Not for a few years any way, we're under complete rebuilding at the moment. Manchester City? Will they go from strength to strength and become one of Europe's elite?

The Italian Clubs? AC Milan? Tell you what would of been a great rivalry, Milan's 2005 team, against this Barcelona side. Can they like Liverpool, rebuild themselves into a European elite? I know they won Serie A, but they way off the pace in European football, that's not like Milan at all.

Inter Milan? I know they had recent success in the CL, but seem off the bubble since Mourinho left and was them beating Barcelona in 2010 really vintage Inter Milan or was it the Mourinho factor? They also failed to win Serie A.

Juventus? Will they be one of Europe's top clubs again, they seem to be rebuilding, in a similar position to Liverpool at the moment. Will they compete in a few years?

So yeah, basically, can any match the current day Barcelona team? Will any one? And what teams from 'recent' times (Not 30 years ago, that'a a different era') would of given the 2010-11 Barcelona a run for their money? And the big question, can Barca get even better? And also a question, if you had a name a team you think will compete with Barcelona in the future, who do you think it'll be?

Question is, or we going to see a team form in the near future, who can compromise Barcelona's dominance? And what teams from the recent past, would of compromised Barcelona's dominance?

I think Real could beat them, they already have done so in a big game match-up this season so I don't see a reason they couldn't again. The gap in talent when it comes to squads is less drastic than it is when comparing to Barcelona to other top sides, there's the familiarity, and then there's Mou, who I think will eventually find the right 'basic' plan to approach them.

As for the end, can't think of another team in my lifetime who are better or who have done more.

I agree with dena. Real are the closest to matching them, but they will not be able to recreate what the Barca team has become - at least not under Mourinho.

in the short term its only real madrid. everyone else is impossible

you know its suppose to be new revolution in juventus. suppose to being spend millions on new players in next window. but wont be surprised if juventus directors just do same as before, promise their fan to bring in amazing superstar players, and then present the fans with christian poulsen and zdenek grygera

much hype up for that team

How much is the Agnelli family prepared to invest in Juve mauro? I heard they have to spend 60 mill euros in the summer just to make loan deals permanent.

Before Guardiola Barcelona were like the rest of the massive clubs, they were beatable just like Manchester United, AC Milan etc.. but now they are head and shoulders above them all.

But they can't beat Arsenal on English soil. You jelly?

hmm as much as I hate to say it Arsenal actually beat them and could do so in the future imo.

Man U has too many old guys they refuse to get rid of to take Barcelona on.

Barcelona is not unbeatable, Inter beat last year over two legs, Arsenal beat them once this year, and they lost several La Liga games. Yes they are the best team right now but I don't see them winning this trophy alot of times in a row, it usually just doesnt happen like that.

They are near enough the complete team.

Each Barca player supports each other. It's like they can play with blind folds, and still get out off tight situations and walk past defenses.

Best team on the planet right now. Reina still better than Valdez thoo. shifty

If Jose is still in charge, I don't think you will beat them in the league. Jose tactics are to sit back, and Barca love that. quick passing, draws out a defender and bang. Messi is there, and the goal is getting raped.

Only Real Madrid is anywhere near Barca's level.

But they are missing one important factor Barcelona has. The chemistry between their players. Not to say that Real's chemistry is bad or anything, but Barcelona's chemistry between their players is something more, probably unseen before in the history of football.

They couldnt even hold a 3-0 half time lead against Liverpool and you expect them to defend the likes of Messi, Xavi, David Villa, etc.

You can't use one match to generalize the quality of a defense.
