Because it gives him a bad reputation. I bet he would've been nomitnated for the PFA award if it wasn't for his diving and over acting.
I'm sure, in the grand scheme of things, when he sits at home polishing his 2 Premier League winners medals and his Champions League winners medal, he won't mind that he hasn't been nominated for an award that was won by a man with 12 League appearances not too long ago. He could still win the Barclays Player of the Season and Football Writers' Player of the Season awards, and he will win more Premier League and probably Champions League medals in his career. His diving isn't holding him back, it's holding you back from appreciating what a talent he is.
Believe me, im aware of his talent, but his attitude on the pitch isn't doing him any favours.
I reckon it's doing him a lot of favours, it helps the referee to make the correct decision and give United free kicks, and it usually makes his opponents more careful when they're tackling him because they don't want to get booked.
