I remember when someone shouted 'Penalty' when he got fouled on the half way line.

Nothing to do with the topic at hand though.
Of course it does.
Hull City 10 years ago = working class people only
We get to the PL where prices are up some working class replaced by posh plastic prawn sandwich eaters.
= less atmosphere
= death of football
There's always been 'bandwagon' fans when a team is successful. It's not a new thing.
But bandwagon fans nowadays are almost certainly posh people who are there to say "i watched ronaldo omg!!!!!!!!! and like yeah im the most knowledge able fan ever!"
Sure about that? There's a load of fans that jumped on our bandwagon after we won the Champions League. The majority I wouldn't describe as 'posh'.
So what you are saying is a bunch of scouse didnt support a team till liverpool won the champions league?
If you are referring to people outside of the liverpool area then that is different, they dont go to games.

Re: Working Class
Wonder if all the ex-pats living in Canada or the US would agree with your sentiment. Maybe the Mexicans as well? Or the French, Germans, Italians, Portuguese, Dutch, Brazilians, or Argentineans? Hell, what about the 16 million Americans who tuned in to watch USA/Ghana?
No, but you are probably right, considering how well the Venezuelans and Polish were represented at the World Cup.
Obviously immigrants like Mexicans or Poles(I remember from experience, we make an atmosphere like a home match in Chicago/Toronto), and the small minority of MLS fans know how to support a team, but the millions of Americans who don't watch soccer, tuning in and 'supporting' USA is cringeworthy.
I particularly like how all of a sudden people who never watch soccer in the normal season become 'experts' at the game during WC's as well.
And why bring Venezuela and Poland in this? Both would qualify with ease if they were competing in North America's qualification.

James wrote:It doesn't matter. Look at it this way, me, Forest, that Hereford fan, the Leeds fans, that Colchester fan, Lux.. We are all a class above 95% of the people that call themselves supporters. We can actually be arsed to get ourselves out of the bedroom on a weekend, we can be arsed to waste our money on the thing I assume we all love the most. That is the difference between us and you glory hunters... We are committed. Say what you want, you know i'm right.
We should be praised for sticking with our clubs through this shit part of footballing history when so many have given up and decided to watch football on tvs and computers.
We are lucky to have the best league in the world in our small country, but fucking hell do you twats abuse it.
