Not great. 6.50 p/h while I'm a trainee. You can get pay rises quite often though, providing you're good. Mine should go up once I'm not a trainee anymore.

Yeh, last two shifts were 8pm-4am. I'm on 7am-3pm atm but next week I've got 11pm-7am.

It's a nice job to have until I decide what I want to do with my life. I just had to get out of construction/

Are you the guy who got sacked for taking drugs or something? shifty

Yeah, it's a good platform to eventually go work in the UAE or some other Gulf country. If I don't move to the Gulf in 2 or so years, I'll return to the USA (assuming it hasn't been bankrupt and destroyed by a retarded Republican. shifty).

Assistant to a woman, that's just not happening.

What does the woman do? She must have a pretty high-up role if being her assistant is better than working the reception. Laughing

Well the hotel holds a lot of weddings and events, it's like a castle with grounds around it etc. She manages front of house and events so i'll be working with her to make sure everything is setup properly and running smoothly, especailly when there are weddings etc there could be 200+ people there, they also have themed balls which loads of posh people attend. When she's off i'll be dealing with it. A much better job than sitting in the reception.

    Oh and strong sexism. Laughing

Yeah that does sound better than reception to be fair. Also sounds like more hard work though, imagine if you get a gypsy wedding! It will be carnage Laughing
