Sometimes you do spout some bs polska. Robinho doesn't exactly like being kicked off the park.

You simply can't mention Ashley Cole in a negative sense around Luke.blackskar wrote:Love how completely off topic this has gotten.

It was Luke's fault
Tom wrote:Eternal Witcher wrote:Tom wrote:Eternal Witcher how can you judge a defenders defencive capabilities without watching long individual clips? well you can't, it doesn't really work like that
Oh really?
Please tell me how it works then
Oh wait you just did, I appreciate your wisdom. Watching long individual clips every flippin week it is then.
Oh I'm sorry would you like me to show u him getting skinned on a short clip so I can conclude your thoughts on that he's somehow shit?

He was no Grzegorz Lato, that's for sure.
But I don't see what I said was wrong or so laughable. I gave perfectly good reasoning. I seriously seriously doubt Pele could play in the modern era and be as great as he was. They were different times and while he was amazing back then, Look back at other greats of the game, Puskas and Zarra, who like Pele, accrued an IMMENSE amount of goals. I can't help but think that those times, football was a much easier game. I doubt that those 3 would achieve many more goals than let's say 30 a season, IF that, if they were here today.

Granted I probably started all this with my response to Lukes "Cole is the best LB in the world" post.

I did just agree with you
Fair enough. Bring Robinho back to the 50's and adjust his mentality and game so he'd be able to play after being kicked in the shins repeatedly.Rei wrote:polska. wrote:Ok, let me rephrase myself. Put Robinho back into the 50's and he'd score 30-40 goals a season too.

Just because Pele might not have been as good today doesn't mean he could be surpassed by Robinho of all people.
If Robinho was so good you wouldn't need to say, 'defenders are better nowadays so Robinho can't do what Pele done' or some bullshit.
Ok, let me rephrase myself. Put Robinho back into the 50's and he'd score 30-40 goals a season too.

You may boss me around here, but in the Arsenal thread you're my bitch
I just used Robinho as an example (actually someone else used it ) Put someone else there instead. =/Tom wrote:polska. wrote:Now there's a man who surpassed Pele.Dan wrote:polska. wrote:TBH I don't think Pele was all that special, the likes of Robinho and Neymar probably surpass him. Robinho can't get an average of 0.89 (or something) goals for Brazil, another reason for why it doesn't matter whatever the era is. If he was better he would atleast show it given the same opportunities, another reason for why Robinho isn't the best of his generation because he can't even match his international goals in his own generation.
Also Robinho would die in the same game Pele played, you have no idea
