I could get assists playing for Barca.. just pass to Messi and watch.Fine Shagger wrote:The-Reporter wrote:Sagna is the best defensively.. he is absolutely solid and consistant.
Maicon going forward.. he got 7 goals and 12 assists last year.
Alves got 5 goals and 15 assists last year. Also 2 goals and 12 assists this year compared to Maicon's 1 goal and 8 assists this year.

So true. My favorite part about him is how cool he is with his teammates. He never gives them shit when they don't pass it to him just at the right time. And he never demands the ball. He just lets his teammates be themselves and lets the game come to him. More importantly, he never really gets excited when he himself scores. He's always more excited when his teammates score.

OK you said Dani Alves scored 5 and assisted 15 in 09/10 for Barcelona to better what i said about Maicon (7 goals 12 assists).Fine Shagger wrote:The-Reporter wrote:I could get assists playing for Barca.. just pass to Messi and watch.Fine Shagger wrote:The-Reporter wrote:Sagna is the best defensively.. he is absolutely solid and consistant.

Then you tell me dont use stats which prove me wrong.. so i did a little research.
Here it says Alves got 3 goals and 13 assists for Barcelona in 09/10. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/30901/daniel-alves?cc=5739
Here it says he got 3 goals and 15 assists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dani_Alves
Either way you are a liar and Maicons stats are better than both of them.
Hint.. dont use stats you made up.

Re: Who is the best right back in the world?
Just looked at Maicon's, and as expected...he doesn't.
Same assists, 3 more goals last year. 1 less goal and 5 less assists this year.
Also, Maicon started 61 games to Alves' 49 last season, which accounts for the difference, and takes more set pieces.

Re: Who is the best right back in the world?
surely is really make no difference if ur comparing a player with 5 goals and 5 assists to a guy with 4 goals and 4 assists(just random example). u surely cannot seperate them by statistics on that basis and must use other forms
if the difference is like 10 goals and 8 assists vs 2 goals and 2 assists then sure, the stats says everything...but not when its so close
where is the stat that shows how many times attackers were able to make run in behind alves for instance? is impossible to judge only with stats if the players are that close

Re: Who is the best right back in the world?
Alves is the best attacking right back by far, but at the same time, he is a system player, he was Sevilla's best player and biggest offensive threat (in a team with Kanoute, Fabiano, Navas, etc.) and he's one of Barcelona's biggest attacking threats, could he do it with another top team? Not sure.
Maicon I think would be the most adaptable, defensively strong, offensively great. Tough decision between those two, Maicon edges it out for me.

Let's ask Gareth Bale if he agrees.

Coincidentally, Maican has played against Bale twice (I think) and had an "off day" both times.
Shouldn't need protection if he was so strong defensively.plus Rafa didn't give him any protection.

I'm just kidding around btw. I do believe he is pretty solid defensively. Bale would have raped most right backs on those days.

Put any defender on his own and high up the pitch vs. a player with the pace of Bale and he'd get stoned, you know this.

In that case, he gets my vote for "most childish RB in the world."

plenty of players have done depression mode when they have being force to stay at certain clubs or a move to bigger club has not eventuated
of course as profesional we should expect them to know better but some of these players are very emotional peoples
