You must know by now that Barcelona defenders never need to defend.Jamie wrote:AFC4EVA2012 wrote:Don't why people rate Dani Alves so highly, he can't defend for *

Alves is more of a winger, defending is decent but nowhere near world class. Sagna is the perfect fullback, attacking and defending balanced, so him.

Re: Who is the best right back in the world?
why do so many people think alves cant defend. sky has infected their brains
1v1 defending he is the virtually the best there is after maicon. to me this is what i think, everyone that says he is bad are those people who watch barcelona maybe once every 2 months and see a lower team get a counterattack against barcelona while alves is in a attacking position and penetrate deep into his flank
\
this does not mean bad defending. this is a risk that entire barcelona take. it is systematic of style of play of barcelona and alves role in that team and does not reflect defensive ability of alves
to say alves is bad defender would mean, he get caught under balls in correct positions, loses 1v1 duels, does basic fouls, does not track runs on set piece or out to in box passes etc. this forum reeks of gary neville pundidtry where every defender that crosses halfway line gets a nose bleed

Re: Who is the best right back in the world?
i agree dani alves is gud going forward and defending barca just play attacking alot so ppl think hes not tht gr8 defensively coz hes always bombing forward and usually playing on the right wing lol

Dani Alves is the best of course, but put Estigarraba on him and Dani Alves is shit.

Grenade never saw Alves shackling Penaldo in 2011
