"You watch Liverpool and Carragher wins the ball and boots it into the
stands and the fans applaud. There's a roar! They'd never applaud that
here."

Re: Xavi
Although their style was different I liked Roy Keane and Paul Ince together, too. That United team was great – my English team. If I'd gone anywhere, it would have been there.

Re: Xavi
You can tell he's a fan of the game, I remember a Benoit Assou Ekkotto interview from earlier where he was like "yeah, fuck this football shit, it's just my job"

No, otherwise I would have only quoted the swear word, or said, 'Haha, he said a naughty word'..
It was the sentence in general

Re: Xavi
Sid Lowe on Xavi (taken off twitter):
Thanks for msgs. A few responses etc ... Xavi was eloquent, open, fantastic to talk to with @petejenson Glad most people liked it.
He was honest and very genuine. There was no playing to the gallery at all re: Rooney, LeTissier, Scholes, etc. Genuine football nut.
Yes, I do think he would be happy with translation. Had only one obsession: making sure it was faithful not just to his words but his voice
Yes, interview done in Spanish. Although half touch and one or two other very minor bits in Catalan.
Don't read dislike into comments on Carragher, quite the reverse. There's admiration. He's just got a conviction to a style.
Me and Pete did tell him that he could never do it on a cold night in Stoke, by the way
