If Fabianski ever reaches his Legia level or goes even further and surpasses it and even reaches his potential, he'd be one of the best goalkeepers in England. As for Szczesny, he has everything to be a future world class player, and if he seems to have the attitude to reach it. Plus Wenger as faith in the both of them.

It'd be beyond idiotic to sign a first choice keeper because Szczesny won't renew his contract and leave on the free (as he so openly declared to do so in the past) and Fabianski has been great this season.

Arsenal's keeper situation is the single biggest reason Arsenal is not top of the table right now. Keeper gaffs have contributed directly to the drop of a handful of points and if Arsenal had a better keeper, Arsenal would be top of the table. So you keep talking about "ifs" and the future while the rest of us laugh at you for thinking your keeper situation is just hunky dorey.
facepalm If anything, our keepers(except for shitty Almunia) have been the most consistent out of anyone on the team this season.

Our defense is much more to blame.

Oh ok, so Arsenal haven't had any keeper gaffes that contributed directly to losses that should have been draws and draws that should have been wins. Ok.

Not this season under Fabianski or Szczesny no.

edit: Actually, Fabianski had one mistake which might have lead to a draw, but imo it's mostly the defenders fault. Think it was Squillaci and/or Clichy fuck-up.

Hardly a facepalm if you haven't seen him. At Legia I really thought he would've went on and start at a top European club, and wanted him to play instead of Kuszczak and Boruc even at his young age.

I highly rate Sandomierski, but tbh, even he is nothing compared to Fab at Legia. (Although Sandomierski has the potential to be much better than any Polish keeper What a Face )

Keep in mind I support Wisla, one of Legia's most bitter rivals.
Mate, who gives a fuck what happened at Legia, no offence but it wont make a difference to Arsenal.

It means a load. If he could replicate his performances from Legia for Arsenal...

Obviously he's not going to play as well in England as he did in Poland.

Not necessarily. It holds true for outfield players, but for goalkeepers? A shot is a shot, and a save is a save no matter the quality of the team/league/striker. (Also why I think Camp can make it in the Premier League no problem as Lux rants daily about)

Likewise, distribution is the same, command of area, set pieces and controlling the defense as well. And it's not like Polish league is that much of a drop in quality. (Think about it as a league comprised of mainly upper championship and relegation favored premiership teams)

Goalkeepers can't be judged the same way as outfield players.

Better strikers in PL mean better finishers, no?

On the same token, worse quality strikers = worse (ie more unpredictable) shots to save.

Obviously it's a step higher in England than it is in Poland, but my point is that a goalkeeper's performance in one league, should be somewhat replicable in another league. (So long as the quality in leagues aren't too drastically different, which they aren't between England and Poland top flights)

Fabianski hasn't replicated them, he has gone steps backwards and looked to finally be on the right track again before this burden of an injury. Fabianski out for Season - Page 2 894246

of course premier league a goalkeeper will be under a lot more stress than in polish league

the pace in the epl is very fast and the ball is constantly in the box. those goalkeeper who cannot command box always fail in the epl but crosses are so important

finishing is also obviously much smarter and more efficient in the epl but the main difference from top league to small league is that the attackers are smarter and more more consistent with final ball

Keep laughing, 3 premier league clean sheets this year (4 if the linesman for the everton game wasn't a cunt.) speaks for itself

Call me deluded but Fabianski has been 1 of the best keepers in the EPL this season tbh.

I haven't said otherwise. Obviously the Premier League is a giant step up.

What I am arguing is that the form and performances of one goalkeeper in one league should be similarly replicated in another league of similar stature.
