Fabianski out for Season

Manuel Almunia has just returned from an injury lay-off but Wojciech Szczesny
has established himself in the first team in the absence of the
Spaniard and Fabianski. Wenger confirmed that the younger Pole will
start in goal at Newcastle.

Szczesny will prove his quality.

Good news for us imo as long as Szczesny doesn't get injured and we end up with that cunt Almunia in goal.

How is it good news? We are left with a relatively unproven goalkeeper and Almunia.

Well from national perspective, don't really mind. We have Sandomierski.

As for Fabianski, really unfortunate.

I feel much safer with Szczesny in goal, then I do with Fabianski in goal.

It's funny, Fabianski's done nothing wrong to warrant such suspicion this season.

Szczesny > Fabianski > Almunia

I wouldn't exactly say its good news though, Arsenal need as many goalkeepers as they can get.

I personally feel more comfortable with Fabianski in goal at the moment. But, it's only because Fabianski has pretty good distribution and Szczesny's isn't that great. He always seems to dwell on the ball a bit too long and there's a striker bearing down on him. It just gets me a bit nervous.

How is it?

If Fabianski were to re-achieve his Legia self, and develop further to surpass it, then he would be starting at most clubs in the Premiership no doubt, and would give Szczesny a tough time overcoming him.

Real unfortunate this injury for Fabianski, it's going to hold him back.

Wojciech Szczesny will probably play for the rest of the season then.

Dont know why, I have always like Szczesny in goal. Fabianski has been quality this season, however theres always a 'tits up' kinda thing in him.

Fabianski's looked good in goal for me...sad to see him injured.

Szczesny's 21 years old...still hasn't even touched the start of his peak though.

It's not good for Arsenal because he's the best they've got. However shit Fabianksi is, the rest of their keepers are worse shit.

It will continue to boggle the mind why Wenger doesn't address the keeper issue. It's easily the most glaring issue with their team and Wenger just keeps acting like he's happy with his keepers. wtf

Cause there is no problem menalawyer.

Much another spend money on Hazard or Vrsaljko or Sakho then a new keeper. Maybe offload Almunia and look for a new 3rd choice, but that's it.

If Fabianski ever reaches his Legia level or goes even further and surpasses it and even reaches his potential, he'd be one of the best goalkeepers in England. As for Szczesny, he has everything to be a future world class player, and if he seems to have the attitude to reach it. Plus Wenger as faith in the both of them.

It'd be beyond idiotic to sign a first choice keeper because Szczesny won't renew his contract and leave on the free (as he so openly declared to do so in the past) and Fabianski has been great this season.

I was impressed with Szczesny when you played us. Didn't look as erratic as I was expecting.

Arsenal's keeper situation is the single biggest reason Arsenal is not top of the table right now. Keeper gaffs have contributed directly to the drop of a handful of points and if Arsenal had a better keeper, Arsenal would be top of the table. So you keep talking about "ifs" and the future while the rest of us laugh at you for thinking your keeper situation is just hunky dorey.

If anything, our keepers(except for shitty Almunia) have been the most consistent out of anyone on the team this season.

Our defense is much more to blame.

Hardly a facepalm if you haven't seen him. At Legia I really thought he would've went on and start at a top European club, and wanted him to play instead of Kuszczak and Boruc even at his young age.

I highly rate Sandomierski, but tbh, even he is nothing compared to Fab at Legia. (Although Sandomierski has the potential to be much better than any Polish keeper )

Keep in mind I support Wisla, one of Legia's most bitter rivals.
